You Found Me

Chapter 15

~Kaityn's POV~

After I explore my new room in complete awe, I check the time on my phone. It's around 9 o'clock here in Sydney and I'm a bit hungry and jet lagged. I slide off my bed and go downstairs to find the boys and maybe something to eat.

Before I reach the bottom I hear 2 voices in the kitchen bickering.

It's Luke and Calum.

"I don't think that's a good idea." Luke says.

"Oh c'mon Luke! She'll love it!"

I walk in on their conversation. Like jumps and awkwardly looks down at his feet and Cal just smiles and waves before leaving us alone.

"What was that all about?" I question my brother.

"Well the boys want to go out to a club and celebrate you joining us but I don't think it's a good idea." He mumbles in a rushed tone.

"Luke I'd love to. But I'm a bit jet lagged and still getting used to this place so maybe another night?"

His face lights up like a Christmas tree.

"Yeah that's fine thanks sis!" He pats my back and runs off somewhere. I just let out a light chuckle at their silliness. Then I begin to rummage through the fridge and cabinets for something to eat. I find a pack of Oreos in the cabinet and pick them to munch on.

I pull the pack out and set them on the table. Then I go to the fridge and grab some milk. When I slam the door closed, Ashton's face is about an inch away from mine and he startles me, making me almost drop the carton of milk.

"You like Oreos and milk?" He raises his eyebrow.

"You bet I do." I smirk and pour myself a glass. Out of nowhere a second glass slides over to me and I fill that one up as well.

"Might as well join in." He giggles and takes a sip.

We say cheers and devour each and every cookie in the package.

Throughout the snack, we play 20 questions and share many laughs.

When I'm too full to do anything else, I stand up off of the stool I was sitting on and peck Ashton's cheek.

"Goodnight Ash."

"Night Kitty-Kat." I smile at his nickname for me and trudge up to my room.

I plop down on my mattress and stare up at the ceiling.

Before I know it, I'm zonked and lightly snoring away.

~Ashton's POV~

"Goodnight Ash."

"Night Kitty-Kat." I say and watch her go back up to her bedroom for some rest. I decide to try and find everyone else.

I immediately find Luke and Michael playing Grand Theft Auto in the living room and Calum making a keek.

"There's Ashton." Calum turns the camera towards me and I wave.

"Hey guys! So uh thank you so much for supporting us and Kaitlyn just went to bed so sorry she isn't here. But thanks love you bye!" Then the keek ends and Calum posts it.

"NOOOO!!!" Michael shouts at the screen and throws his controller at me before storming out.

"Umm...." We all burst out laughing and within a minute he's back and sitting on the couch with Luke again.

We fool around for a good hour before I get tired and head upstairs.

I pass by Michael's and Calum's rooms first, then the hall bathroom, then Luke's, Kaitlyn's, and lastly mine. I go into my room and pull on some sweatpants and take my shirt off.

I have to brush my teeth so I walk down to the hall bathroom.

As I'm brushing my teeth, I hear a small whimper from down the hall. I push it to the back of my mind and wash my mouth out quickly.

I take one last glance in the mirror at my appearance and then start down the hall to my room again.

That's when I hear her sobbing and whimpers. I rush in to her room and dart to her bed, where she's curled in a ball bawling her eyes out.

"Katie sweetheart! Oh my god are you alright?"

She shakes her head and looks up into my eyes with her own glossy blue ones.

"What's wrong? Bad dream?" This time she nods and lets out another whine.

"Ash-Ashton they hate me."

"Who? Who could possibly hate you?" She gulps and I know all too well she's talking about the fans.

"I had this dream that we were out on a date and then some girls pushed me and beat me up and you left me and then one girl...." She trails off at the end.

"Go on baby."

"One girl shot me. And that's when I woke up in tears and noticed my phone buzzing with twitter notifications." I steal her phone away quickly and breeze through the comments.

The list went on and on. There were the occasional sweet ones but most were nasty. She even got several death threats which break my heart. They've crossed the line this time.

Meanwhile, Katie is sobbing into my chest and I don't blame her. I would be too if I were in her place. But I don't know what to do. How do I tell the fans to stop? There's always going to be some hate.

So instead I just try to comfort my girl.

"Shhh, baby it's alright. I'm here and nobody is going to take me away from you and you're safe okay? Shhhh I love you." I whisper in her ear and pull her closer to me. I let her cry into me and after she's run out of all her tears, I let her fall asleep again in my arms. I'm falling asleep slowly too, but I don't mind.

Right before I close my eyes, a notification pops up on my screen too. Luke uploaded a picture on twitter of me holding a frantic looking Kaitlyn.

@Kat_Hemmings @Ashton5SOS are so cute together. But seriously guys stop the hate it hurts us too. Thank Ash for taking care of my sis! Lots of love, no hate!

I smile at the adorable tweet. And then just like that, I was out.
