You Found Me

Chapter 39

After the fight broke out in our kitchen, I decided there was too much stress to hang around with. I went upstairs and locked myself in my room, letting the guys downstairs handle everything. I also put Ash in charge of the party situation. Then I remembered an important call I had to make.
I pulled up my video chat screen on my laptop and bit my cheek while I waited for the ringing to end.

"Hey how's it going?" Paige's face popped onto the screen within four rings.
"I have a favor to ask. Where are you right now? Uh I'm in Japan for a modeling gig I got. Why?"
"Perfect! I'm buying you a ticket out here right now okay?" I squealed in delight.
"No, Kaitlyn I don't want to see Luke!" She glared at the camera and I giggled.
"Please? It's his birthday party and I think you two need to talk." I used the famous puppy dog look which always gets her.

After a moment of silence, she finally gave in. The flight will be long and the party is in 8 hours. My plan could work out.

~~~later that night~~~

"Michael! Stop eating the chips! Guys guests are starting to arrive can you please act normal!?" I tug at my hair as the party begins.

"Katie?!" I hear a lady excitedly ask from behind me. When I turn, I am faced with Ashton's mum and sister.
"How are you sweetie? Very pregnant I see." She grins and chuckles and I do as well.
"Yes! It's so great to see both of you! These two babies are certainly getting in my way sometimes."

The three of us chat about the babies for about half an hour. At some point during the discussion Ashton snuck up behind me and joined us. We talked about how excited we are.
Being almost 7 months pregnant, we're almost there. I can't believe it. I'm going to be a mother soon.

A little around 7 o'clock, Luke pulled up to the house. We all hid and as soon as he walked in, we all jumped out. The only slight problem is that his new chic, Valerie, was by his side.

Nonetheless, we scared him all right.

"You guys! Who set this up?!" All fingers pointed to me and I couldn't help but blush.
Luke walked over to where I stood and engulfed me in a huge hug.
"Happy birthday baby brother." He chuckled and went off to greet some other friends at the party.

I got a text a few minutes later from Paige.

Just landed, pulling into terminal now. I'll text you when I'm in the cab.

I nodded in approval, despite the fact that she can't see me. Nobody else knew about my big surprise.

After getting myself a cocktail drink, I hurried out to the street and waited for the arrival of my best friend. It only took a little longer for a cab to pull up at our mailbox.

My friend exited the car with bags in hand, wearing a cute pink and green cocktail dress and white pumps.
"Follow me." I said with a smirk.
She did as she was told and followed me inside, careful not to run into anyone serious. I placed her bag down by the stairs and gave Paige detailed instructions. After planning that out, I had to find Luke.

He wasn't hard to find. My brother was outside with his family and some childhood friends sitting by a bonfire.
"Luke, hey, I have to show you something that I think you need to see."
"Uh, okay, is it a present? Because you didn't really have to go through that for me."
"You could say that, I suppose." I led my brother towards the staircase right as Ashton and Calum popped up behind me.

"Kat, who's bag is that by the wall? It looks familiar." Calum points out.
"You'll see in a minute." I smirk and then look my brother in the eyes.

"Luke I think you really need this gift. There's a lot of reasons you'd probably disagree, including your girl Valerie over there," I say, nodding towards her as she scoffs in disgust. "But just wait. C'mon down!" I yell loudly.

And then, Paige appears at the top of the stairs, looking stunning as ever. She blushes and waves shyly at her ex, who is standing next to me looking completely shocked.

I get a chance to see Valerie run off somewhere as Paige begins her descent down the hall. Everyone seems to be in utter shock and confusion.

And once she reaches the last step, Luke speaks.
"Paige?"

"Hi Luke."
