You Found Me

Chapter 16

~Kaitlyn's POV~

I wake up and roll over to an empty bed. The last thing I remember last night is crying hysterically into Ashton's chest as he comforted me. I grab my phone and check twitter. Most of the hate cleared up, but there were still some pretty nasty things out there. It's nice to have 4 people who are about me though. I feel safer with them.

I throw my hair up in a messy bun and cross my arms over my chest as I make my way downstairs. The smell of bacon, eggs, and sausage fills my nose pleasantly. There in the kitchen is Calum at the stove. Michael is setting the table. Luke is talking to someone who is opposite of him on the couch, but I can't tell who. And Ashton is on FaceTime with Calum's mum teaching them how to cook the eggs properly.

"Good morning?" It comes out as more of a question.

Luke's head snaps my way and he cheers.

"GOOD MORNING SISTER SISTER!"

"Someone's happy." I groggily laugh at him and look back to see who he was talking to. My eyes shoot open when I see my best friend on the couch.

"Paige?!"

"Katie!!!!" She screams and jumps into my arms without any warning.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, confused as hell as to what is happening at the moment.

One minute I'm crying into my boyfriends body, the next we have guests and gourmet meals prepared by the boys and help from Calum's mum.

"I invited Paige out here to stay with us for a week." Luke smiles and holds her close to him. They smile and he pecks her cheek.

"Wait. Where's Simba?"

"YOUR KITTY IS ADORABLE KAT!" Michael shouts in response and I turn to see him holding my cat like Simba in the lion king. I laugh and snap a picture on my phone.

"How'd you sleep babe?" Two arms snake around my mid section tightly.

"Very well how about you?" I smile and ask in return.

"Great." He swoops down and kisses me swiftly.

Soon enough, breakfast is ready and we all have bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches with a side of sausage and some apple juice. The meal actually turned out really tasty.

We finished our food and I cleaned up the dishes while everyone played with Simba and goofed off in the other room.

"So...how's it been?" I hear Paige's voice behind me and notice her sitting at a stool by the bar.

"What do you mean?" I raise my eyebrow in confusion by her question.

"You know. The hate, dating Ash, being Luke's brother, the new home. How's it all been for you?"

"Lots of change. Good and bad I guess. The hate is tough, but it's getting better and I assume I'll eventually get used to it. Ashton's a sweetheart and I'm so glad we're together. Luke is the best brother there is and I can tell he's a good boyfriend. The house is really nice, my room is cool, thanks to the 5SOS mums. I guess I'm still getting used to this though. But overall it's been pretty nice. How about you?" I reply in one rushed answer.

"Umm, good. I'm glad Luke asked me out. It's been going well. And Simba has been good company. He really likes me. It's nice to see my best friend though."

I put the last plate in the dishwasher and run it. Twisting around to face her, I see a sparkle in her eyes.

"It's nice to see you too Paige." I walk over and wrap her in a right hug. We haven't hugged in a long time and it feels good honestly.

"Lets go join everyone else, yeah?" I suggest and we walk hand in hand back out to the living room.
