You Found Me

Chapter 14

~Ashton's POV~

"Now boarding all first class passengers on the flight to Sydney, Australia."

We stand up at once and grab our carry on bags before forming a line by the plane ramp. I entwine my fingers between Katie's, and she gives me a light squeeze in return.

In a very quick fashion, we all find our seats. Kaitlyn gets the window seat, then I'm next to her. Across the aisle, Luke, Michael, and Calum sit next to each other.

As we take flight, Kat rests her head on my shoulder. I hear music playing through her headphones and immediately recognize the song as You Found Me by the Fray.

As the lyrics run through my head, I take in every detail about her.

Lost and insecure

The way she clutches her stomach and curls in a ball, trying to keep herself covered.

You found me, you found me

How she's holding my hand tightly, as if she's afraid to let go.

Lying on the floor

Her soft hair resting against my neck, and the end tickling me ever so slightly.

Surrounded, surrounded

Her lips curving upwards at the thought of her friends and family right by her side.

Why'd you have to wait

How she peacefully is being lulled to sleep, putting her complete trust in me because she knows I'm here to protect her.

Where were you, where were you

The phrases she mumbles in her sleep, and how her head shakes throughout her dreams.

Just a little late

Her body flinching every time I move, or someone nearby talks.

You found me, you found me

Her two eyelids fluttering endlessly as she rests in bliss.

The song flows through my mind perfectly, describing our relationship indirectly. My lips land on her forehead gently, and she flinches and tenses up, only to calm down and resume her pleasant thoughts.

I certainly got lucky when I got this beautiful girl.

I found her, and now I have no intentions of letting her go.

Many hours later, we arrive in Sydney. I guess I had fallen asleep because someone shook my arm and my eyes shot open.

"Babe, we're here." A very exciting looking Kaitlyn smiled widely at me.

"Great." I mumble and yawn, still adjusting to waking up. Since we're towards the front of the plane, we get off fairly soon.

"You ready?" Luke asks his sister.

She nods and punches his arm.

"Please bro, I was born ready." She goofs but deep down I can sense a hint of nervousness in her joke.

We take one step into the airport and get swarmed by fans and paparazzi almost right away.

"CALUM MARRY ME!" A girl screams.

"ASHTON I LOVE YOU!" I smile at the fans and cameras, stopping to hug a few of them.

Luke and Calum continued to escort Kaitlyn through the crowd as Michael and I tried to quiet down the girls and shoo them away.

After a while, they finally got the message and ran away overjoyed.

"I'm surprised at how well Katie is taking all this fame." Mike remarks, sounding restless and looking exhausted.

"Yeah same." I pat him on the back and we pick up our pace to catch up with the other 3.

I guess they found a cab pretty easily, because when we catch up, they're loading bags into the trunk of a van.

Somehow they already got our luggage and got a ride. Wow they're fast.

"You ready baby?" She high fives me and giggles which I interpret as a yes.

Michael gives the driver our address and just like that, we're off.

"Alright so we're currently going to our shared house." Luke explains. "Your room used to be a guest room, but while we were on tour, our mums put it together to be your room! None of us have seen it yet though so we have no idea if you'll like it or not." He lets out a shaky laugh.

"I'm sure I'll love it." Kat confirms although I'm pretty sure she says that just to make her brother relax.

Before we know it, the van pulls into our familiar driveway. The mansion sits in front of us and I watch as my girlfriend's jaw drops.

"You live here?"

"Yup!" Cal says and slides the door open to get out.

I pay the cab driver and help grab our luggage from the trunk. Then he drives off, leaving us to enter the house.

We give Kat a simple tour, forgetting most rooms.

"You'll basically figure out where everything is by the end of this week." I conclude when she stares at me in shock.

"Sure I will." She rolls her eyes and then we start upstairs to her bedroom. I'm actually a little scared what the mums put together. My mum mentioned that it was fun and looked perfect for a young girl.

Lets pray she's right.

Luke turns the knob and walks in first. Then Kaitlyn, me, Michael, and Calum.

"Oh. My. God." She gapes and runs to the bed.

It's a king sized bed with lilac and white sheets and pillows. The walls are lilac also, and all the furniture is white.

There's a desk by the window, a dresser, and a nightstand. A large mirror hangs on the wall by the dresser. A television is attached to the wall opposite her bed.

"This is amazing!!!" She cheers.

Then she sees the closet and runs to it. The doors whip open to reveal storage shelves, filled with shoes, and hangers full of clothes.

Lastly we check out the bathroom. The inside is a creamy color. Her vanity is white with another mirror and a cabinet on the wall. There's a lilac toilet and a hamper in the corner. A bathtub and shower also sit in the room, along with 2 sinks.

I have to hand it to our mothers, the room is spectacular.

"THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!" Kat screams and jumps into my arms.

"Would you all do me the favor of calling your mums and telling them I love it?"

We tease her but agree to let them know her feedback.

It's nice to see her so happy.

"Alright baby, we'll let you settle in. Come down soon though." I kiss her cheek and wave goodbye.

"Okay." She sighs and jumps back onto the bed as I shut the door.
