You Found Me

Chapter 21

~Kaitlyn's POV~

The next morning I wake up with a shiver. Flashbacks run through my mind of last night. 5 months, our date, the sex. My naked body shakes once more from the cool air. Tip toeing across the floor, I snatch Ashton's sweatshirt and pull it on. I smile at the sight of him twisted in the sheets. His mouth hanging open slightly, and curls disheveled on top of the pillow. He mumbles something and shifts around, reaching towards the empty spot where I was before. As soon as he realizes I'm gone his eyes break open and he sits up frantically. A small giggle escapes my lips.

Ashton sees me and sighs.

"Good morning Ash."

"Morning babe." He kisses my forehead, still trying to wake himself up.

"Ashton I should head home now. I have some work to do." He raises his eyebrow. I don't blame him. There's really no work waiting for me, but I promised that I would FaceTime Paige and tell her exactly what happened. 

"Fine." He huffs and pulls me into his chest for a warm hug. I grab my keys and wave before walking back down the street to wear our cars were parked. I get set in my silver BMW and start the engine. Hitting the gas, I speed down the road towards home sweet home.

 A while later I am sitting at a red light. I should be home in a few minutes. The roads are familiar with me at this point. I pull out my phone out to shoot Ashton a text.

Hey Ash! Almost home! See ya later :)

The light changes to green and I continue driving down the roads. This road isn't too busy. Normally I fly down it and completely disregard the speed limit. However there is an intersection and I can see from where I sit that a sports car is heading this way. 

Then I feel a buzz in my lap. I smirk and read the text with one hand, the other still holding the wheel.

Amnesia plays softly in the background. 

K Kat. I have rehearsal. See you tonight. I love you

I look back up at the road ahead of me only to feel a collision in my side. The blow feels like a thousand rocks being thrown against me and I lose complete control of my surroundings. I try to sit back as my car rolls upside down. Glass shards pierce into my skin and cause me great pain. 

In the distance I hear shouts and car horns. Through it all the music is still playing.

Cause I'm not fine at all.

And then everything goes black.
