You Found Me

Chapter 3

~Luke's POV~

My mom got herself together after about 10 minutes. And then we just sat there in silence.

Finally the silence is too much and I decide to ask the question I've been avoiding.

"So what's she like?"

Liz's eyes dart up, wide and red from the emotional roller coaster.

"Recently, I have no idea. Look I'm going to fill you in on everything. So just please, listen." She sighs and I prepare for the information.

"I got pregnant with you when I was 24. You already know that. I had just married your father and then we had you. What you don't know is that you had an older sister. Kaitlyn was born a few years before you. I remember it so vividly. I wasn't ready for a child, and I wasn't even married. So for the next 2 years I tried so hard to find a family to adopt her. And when I was about 7 months in to my pregnancy with you, this nice couple, Dan and Patty, adopted your sister."

She paused for a minute and took a deep breath. You could hear her voice shaking as she explained, and I knew that any second now she'd be crying again. Hell, even I was on the verge of tears. How could nobody tell me this? I'm 18 and they all let me grow up without my big sis. It's gut wrenching.

"About a year ago I got in touch with Patty Evans, Kaitlyn's adoptive mom. We met up for coffee one day. Patty told me that Kaitlyn grew up thinking Dan and her were her birth parents. She has no clue about any of her real family. Then I asked her about your sister. What she looked like, where she lived, her hobbies, etc.."

Now I interrupt.

"Well? What's she like?"

"Katie is 20. She lives in London. Brown hair, blue eyes, and stays very fit. She dances and runs. And she also is a huge fan of 5 Seconds of Summer."

"That's great!" I cheer, excited about this whole thing.

"And Dan called the other day saying she was coming to your London show on your tour. If I were you, i would find her and tell her everything."

"Are you sure?" I ask my mum, not wild about the idea of meeting my long lost sister at my concert.

She just nods.

Sometime that night my mum left. The boys and I talked about my sister. They all seemed to understand and listen very well. Especially Ashton. I don't think I'd ever seen him so serious.

That night I couldn't fall asleep. I just tossed and turned all night.

My mom had left me a picture of Kaitlyn.

She's actually very pretty. If I could go back and keep her from Dan and Patty I would. It breaks my heart that I missed her whole childhood. I never even met her.

But I will.

I will meet Kaitlyn soon.
