~Kaitlyn's POV~
"KAITLYN OVER HERE!"
"MISS HEMMINGS PLEASE!"
"Damn she didn't die."
A mix of shouts and murmurs and flashes consume my personal space the second I step out of the hospital. Ashton's arm wraps around my torso protectively. I send him a half-smile as a thank-you. Luke, Cal, and Mikey lead us through the crowd to their van.
"I'm sorry." Luke apologizes once we've hit the road.
"Don't worry about it. I understand." I try to shake it off as best as I can. I mean, there's more important things going on in my life. For instance, the child growing inside of me. I don't really understand how it happened, but I am going along with it. I'm young and scared but I would never abort or abandon this baby.
"I'm glad you're back Katie." Michael says softly from the passenger seat.
"I'm glad to be back."

After a long day of catching up on the past couple weeks, I shower and get ready for bed. I throw on a pair of baggy plaid pajama pants and an old raggedy white tee. I am brushing my brown locks out when my phone buzzes on the bed.
KAITLYN HEMMINGS THANK GOD YOU'RE ALIVE AND YOU'RE PREGGO HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT YOUR LIFE IS MORE INTERESTING THAN MINE WHEN YOU'VE BEEN IN A COMA????!!!!!!

We continue texting back and forth like that for a good hour. Before I know it, my eyes are fluttering closed and my body sinks into the plush purple pillows that I've missed so much.
