I got up immediately to leave again but I immediately heard the door close loudly and Yen with throwing the key and paper bags on the sofa.

"Oh, you are already back. I thought you were still taking someone on a date."

She also threw away the jacket she was wearing and immediately looked at me.

I just stood there and also looked straight at her as she took out her cell phone and showed me the messages that she and Vanessa had.

"Or so I heard," she told me as I swallowed for a few seconds before speaking.

"Look, whatever it is that Vanessa told you, that's a lie. Benedict was with me earlier."

She passed me and took a plate and a fork. Even though she wasn't looking at me while taking carbonara, she still spoke.

"Relax, baby brother. I know where you are going. I've already contacted Benedict. "

She was already spinning the carbonara on the fork and eating in front of me. The nervousness in my chest suddenly vanished.

I thought that everything won't end well. But, in the end, she understood me - which almost made me smile. Like I said, almost.

"So, are we okay? No problems? " I asked her as she shook her head at me. Talk about early celebrations, indeed.

"I'm not enraged at the fact that you lied to Vanessa. I'm just frustrated that you said I was sleeping. " I just kept my mouth shut when I heard this.

Rather than replying, I thought I would just let Yen continue. If I answer, she might even get irritated at me.

And I don't want her to see her mad. She's the kind of sister that would keep on nagging.

"You could've just said something that I went somewhere, the mall, the park. But no, you just had to tell her that I was sleeping, " she sarcastically complained to me as I just raised my hand.

"Fine, I apologize. I wasn't thinking straight at that time, "I told her as she folded her arms and raised an eyebrow at me.

"You should be," she added.

"You almost got caught, mind you. Just thank me for helping you with your nonsense," Yen replied as her eyes narrowed immediately.

I was wondering if this is a good time to tell her about our 'hiking trip' or basketball training.

I mean, she'll definitely disagree with this - since I already made a mistake.

"What's bugging your mind? Why are you so quiet there? " she immediately asked me in astonishment. I was hesitant to tell her in case she raised an eyebrow at me and scolded me.

"All right, don't answer me."

"Alright, fine, just wait," I said uncontrollably before scratching my head because of irritation.

She just kept silent. Her shoes clicked and echoed throughout the room. The stare that she gave me told me that she was already impatient and currently prompting me to tell her the news.

Though nervous, I answered her. "We have a hiking trip this Friday. They said it's training."

"I'm just asking permission -" She raised her hand to stop me from speaking.

There was a look on her face as I waited for her answer. Maybe she knew right away that I would not allow her to refuse either. She knew she would only get annoyed later when she did that.

"I do not object to your hiking trip. If it's necessary, then go, " she answered.

"I'm not done yet, sister." She frowned at me and I sighed.

She wasted no time sitting in one of the chairs and continued to take food as she let me explain.

Of course, I took that opportunity to tell her.

"I was going to ask for a favor," I replied to her. She didn't seem to mind so I continued talking even though she ate.

She didn't even bother looking at me, thinking that it was just an easy favor and she could do it immediately. But, I wasn't the kind of person who'd give such a request.

I really took advantage of that opportunity.

"I was hoping to keep this a secret from Vanessa."

That's when she looked back at me when I said that. She should have raised her fork but she stopped and slightly placed it back on the plate.

"And why is that? Why can't you tell your girlfriend about this? Why are you still hiding? " She then pushed the plate away from her.

"I just lost my appetite." She stood up and walked out and passed by me.

"Yen--" She then stopped me abruptly.

"You're her boyfriend, Ethan. Then, act that way. Your deception is enough. You need to tell her the truth, " she explained as I thought of another way to change her mind.

As she was walking up the stairs, I immediately ran and spoke behind her.

"If I'm going to tell her the truth, then you're going to suffer a life with her in this house."

I really emphasized those words to make her stop walking. I was right because she immediately turned to me and asked.

"What do you mean about that?" Her eyebrows are still raised.

"I mean, if I tell her the truth, then she'd come back home - here in the Philippines. She'll always come here, heck, she might even live here. " I shrugged when I said that.

"I'm just not sure if you can stand the chatter then," I said as she shook her head.

"Ugh, fine. But, I will only do this because I do not want her here in our house, " Yen replied before continuing to leave and go straight up the stairs.

When I saw that she already went up, I immediately took my cell phone out of my pocket and called Benedict.

"Benz," I called to him as I immediately heard his voice on the other line.

"Ethan, how many more hours will you stay there? A lot of people are staring at me," she said before she spoke again.

"The waiters and the people here thought that I was the only one who would eat all this because my girlfriend did not meet up with me. Damn it, "he added to me as I immediately got out and walked to my car.

"Another waiter here said that the right time for the right woman will also come. I just have to wait, " he complained.

"Look, do I look like I'm looking for a woman in this situation? I just ate here because you told me you'd pay for it."

"On my way there, Benz. 'Don't complain about that,' I replied before laughing as I opened the door of my car.

"Hurry up. I won't pay for these."

I won't be surprised. Since when did he even bring money?

I couldn't help but grin and drop the call to drive. Closing my car door, I turned on the engine and pulled it back.

Though, I wondered why the guards did not open our gates. When I raised the window of my car, I immediately asked one of them.

"Guard, why won't you open the gate? I've got an important meeting with a friend right now and I need to be there, asap."

He immediately shook his head and answered my question but I was just holding my hair when I heard it.

"Miss Yen ordered us not to let you out today.'

Bad luck, again.
