I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK FROM WHAT SHE SAID.

It was very unexpected for her to say such a thing. I don't even know how she remembered everything I told her back then.

Grabbing the steering wheel tight, I was scared that I'd take my eyes off the road and become unfocused. At that time, my heart was rushing and I seem to try to catch my breath.

I had a hard time looking back at my friend – who was still playing his music on his phone and doesn't really notice my baffled expression. And since he was wearing his headphones, he wouldn't know it.

That girl.

It was as if she had taken my breath away. And let me tell you, it wasn't in a good way.

She wasn't like any other girls that would be too shy to fight back and you'd be comfortable that they wouldn't do anything bad.

No, she was the kind of girl that would intimidate you and you'll have no choice but to be the one to walk away. The type of girl that you'd think that she knows everything about you, and that made me even more worried.

But, I'm sure that she doesn't remember that, right? No, she couldn't have remembered me. Maybe what she told me was an accident.

Our first encounter was at Jollibee – I'm pretty sure that she could not have remembered my face back then and tell that it was me.

But she's a girl, Ethan.

They have a very photographic and probably the sharpest memory.

You might think that she couldn't have remembered you in the past.

But, unfortunately, she does.

I could feel that she already know that I was the reason why she couldn't enlist the first time since I sped my car and made her clothes a mess from the puddle.

Heart racing, I couldn't help myself but turn the car around to park in one of the nearest restaurants.

Benedict widened his eyes and braced himself next to me, spitting out curse words as I sped up to take a spot outside.

"What the hell, Ethan?" Benedict screamed at me as I continued to drive.

"Next time, tell me if you're going to drive this fast again." He gave me a quick glare before looking back at the road.

"'Cause if this is gonna happen again, then let me be the one to drive." I decided to ignore him this time. I had too much on my plate already to even listen to him scolding me.

When I finally parked my car at one of the spots and stopped, Benedict gave me a look.

He took off his headset and decided to put it in front of him. His eyes were seemingly distracted.

He even looked like he wanted to ask me a question but once he turned his gaze back at me, he probably left me some time to breathe and think.

I was thinking she probably did know who I was – and that she wants to say that I don't have to hide anymore, almost saying that she recognizes me from the car immediately.

I was the one who almost killed her, after all.

"Ethan, are you sure that you're alright?"

Glancing to my right and I could see that Benedict was immersed in his own thoughts - confusion written all over his face. Even if he stayed silent himself, I could already tell that he was worried about me.

I guess he never expected me, out of anyone, to get nervous around a girl.

"I don't even know, Benz." He then faced me, suddenly growing a smirk on his face. I sensed that he probably thought of something that might get me embarrassed and the reason why I was probably like this.

"Dude, don't tell me that you're nervous because you saw that girl again?"

His mischievous grin was still intact as I avert my eyes from him and decided not to answer.

As he adjusted to his seat, he couldn't help but chuckle at my reaction – putting his shoulders, leaning to the side, and facing me.

"Looks like I was right this time. So tell me, what did she say?"

What do you think she said? She told me that she didn't even damage my car. Like hell.

It's almost as if she wants to tell me that she'll do something much worse if I ever cross her way again.

"I asked her why she decided to hit my car..." Benedict nodded as I continued telling him what happened.

"Oh, so that's her. I really thought that you ran into a post or something," he mumbled to himself before he lets me continue the story.

"Then she told me that I backed away too much. She even said that she didn't really make damage to my car so she's able to get away with it." Benedict then laughed hysterically, not believing what he actually heard.

"That girl has a nerve, alright. I just couldn't believe that she'd answer you like that." Shaking my head, I playfully punch my friend's arm.

He widened his eyes at me as soon as he felt the pain. I was kidding about being playful though.

"Alright, fine. I won't tell or even mention this to our teammates. You know me too well," he complained before sighing. I threw a glare before nodding. That's good to hear.

"We're almost like brothers from the beginning, Benz. I already know your personality," I told him before opening the door to get outside. He soon followed and even questioned me after.

"I thought that we were already going home? Why are we here?"

Knowing that he'll ask more, I decided to just reply to him shortly. "We're just going to eat before we go back."

He didn't bother asking me about that girl but he did say something that almost made me frustrated.

"Fine, we'll eat there. You pay." He then smiled at me as I wiped my forehead with my handkerchief and almost scoffed. As usual.

"If you want, we can do something different this time. You pay, I'll be the one to eat."

His smile widened even more and he quickly walked inside the restaurant. But, he then stopped to look at me. Staring at him, I can't help but take a deep breath. This day had been too stressful.

"That girl has an effect on you, huh? Your temper's getting worse these days."

That's what he told me before walking right ahead of me, leaving me in a daze. Seeing him going inside, he looked for a table where we'd eat.

If you're talking about food, he's already on the go.

I can't blame him though. Due to the long training that we had earlier and since he was still adjusting, I'm sure he got tired easily. The practice was harder than before anyway.

There were a lot more drills and we almost drained our energy for a three-hour practice. We wouldn't have a break if it weren't for the emergency meeting of our professors.

I was about to follow him but my phone rang so I had to take it from my pocket. Finding out the caller's ID, I almost threw my phone away in anger when I saw who it was.

Fvck, here we go again.
