Days passed and we were now on our way to Scarlet Peaks. It was a good thing that the guy, Ethan, didn't bother me last week after that incident.

I noticed that he'll try to avoid me as much as possible and go in different directions every time that he sees me.

But, I think it's for the best. I mean, there would finally be no conflict whatsoever just like what happened days before.

When I had placed my arms on one of the pillows inside the car, I already felt like there was someone staring at me.

I assumed it was Sam since I don't really have any bond with the other girls. My classmates are the only ones in here and most of them don't really like to start a talk.

To be honest, I was thinking that the reason for this whole trip was just to impress other people. It's like they just wanted to show off that even if it had been a long time, all of us still remember each other.

"You seem to be too silent over there, sis."

I heard Sam right beside me so I looked back at her. She was eating Pringles while an Airpod was on her left ear.

When she noticed that I was staring at her food, she then offered it to me. "Do you want some?"

"No, I just have a lot of things on my mind," I answered her as she nodded before fighting the urge to giggle.

"Let me guess, you're thinking about that basketball player," she replied as I coughed loudly.

Hell no, why would I even think about him? Of all the people I could think about, why did Sam even think that I'm interested in him?

She raised her eyebrow once she saw my reaction. After that, she laughed. "Hey, remove that frown of yours. Don't lie to me. You're thinking about him, aren't you?"

"Not really, I'm thinking about them." I then pointed to everyone using my lips and pouted in different directions.

I don't really want to get the attention of everyone in the van. They'll be mad if they heard what I said. And it was already great that they couldn't see me pointing at them.

"Stop hiding. You overheard them last week. They're also going mountaineering. What if it's Scarlet Peaks though?" She smiled at me before I hid my face in embarrassment.

I do hope not. That would probably make this day even worse than it is.

When she knew that I wasn't going to face her, she even added, "You're already fangirling, huh?"

"Do you even hear yourself, Sam? You're literally pairing me to the guy who almost killed me for a few times now." I finally deadpanned, seeing her not even paying attention to me.

But when she did, a shrug was her only answer – her lips curling into a cheeky smile.

"It's all accidental, I'm sure. Besides, you two look cute together."

"We're cute together? No thanks. I don't even want to know what will happen to me when I'm near that guy," I complained before looking outside the car window.

I could feel her tapping me on the shoulder but I decided not to move an inch. I know that she'll just tease me even more.

And I'm not even interested.

"You know, accidents happen at some point–" I couldn't help myself but mumble to myself – but I made sure that I said it straight and with a strict tone to let her know my point.

"Are you sure that what happened last week was just an accident? Do you remember that time when he almost killed me with his car when I was going to meet you?" I asked her as I looked around to see if there were any classmates of ours eavesdropping on the conversation.

Luckily, they're wearing earphones and some of them are asleep.

I then gave Sam a look. "And remember that time that he made sure to speed up his driving to splash me with water from the road? And that time when he—"

"Okay, okay, fine. It's wrong to pair you with that guy. I get it."

She then raised her hands as if she were telling me that she already lost. "Calm down. It even looks like you're going to have high blood at that condition."

"You can shout all of your problems at Scarlet Peaks so for now, keep your composure, okay?" she added as I nodded at what she told me, my chin placed on top of my palm as I leaned into my backpack.

"Even if you scream at the top of your lungs there and pour all of your hatred, no one's gonna judge. Probably." As soon as she finished her sentences, there our van skidded to a stop. The president of our class then faced us, her eyes gazing around.

"We're here!" she made sure that her voice was loud and clear as our classmates who were asleep, blinked a few times. The others who were listening to their playlist removed their earphones and even turned off the music before deciding to get off the van.

"I really thought that the trip would be really long," Sam muttered out of the van and looked at the others.

I was really shocked when our president decided to hit the shoulders of the boys in our class afterward.

"Hey, we're already here. Come on, wake up."

There were a lot of the boys who still weren't ready to get off. It was already obvious that most of them didn't have enough sleep since they kept on playing on their phones or kept on packing their things. To be honest, I don't know which one it would be.

When I saw Sam's unreadable expression, I immediately asked her, "Do you really think that this is a good idea, Sam?"

Though, I didn't expect her to answer with no hesitation whatsoever in her voice. "Of course. I think it's better to forget that guy first. Enjoy life, live a little."

"Are you ready girls?" We then heard one of our classmates asking in a loud voice and almost everyone answered with enthusiasm.

"Ready!"
