▬▬ C L A I R E ▬▬
A BRIGHT LIGHT ALMOST BLINDED ME INSTANTLY.
As soon as I opened my eyes I immediately saw that we were no longer on the mountain. I noticed that I was already in a spacious room with Sam and another of my classmates.
I could feel the cold room and the silence around me so I immediately called my friend so she would know I was awake.
"Sam," I mentioned her name and immediately moved my hand to wake her up. Since she was beside my bed, she easily stirred and woke up as soon as my hands tried to shake her form.
"C-Claire? Oh, you're awake. I'm sorry, I just fell asleep," she told me before adjusting her seat next to me.
I noticed that she was still shaken up so I immediately regretted why I immediately woke her up.
"How are you feeling?" she asked me then but it looks like she went through more because of the dark circle she had on her eyes. I just smiled at her. "I'm still okay. You? Why do you seem like you didn't have that much sleep?"
"Is it bad to worry about my friend?" My smile widened because of that. Sam is really like my sister. No matter what happens to us, we are still here with each other. If something happens to one, the friend always helps.
That's what sisters do, right? They protect each other.
But in our case, we're sisters - not by blood but by the bond.
I have known Sam for a long time. She was my childhood classmate and our parents were really close. So we know almost everything about each other. No secrets.
"Of course not. But, the circles on your eyes only grow bigger when you wake up. You can sleep again. I'm okay," I advised her before making my bed. Though, my foot suddenly got hurt when I tried to move it. Sam blinked and looked away from me.
"I didn't even tell you that—" My eyes widened when there was a knock on our door.
My classmate, who is now awake, opened it and the doctor came in immediately with a nurse just to check if my condition was okay.
She was carrying a clipboard while the nurse looked at my foot and let it rise and there was a pillow underneath. When the doctor approached me, he immediately asked me.
"How do you feel, Miss Guanzon?" I felt myself for a few minutes. I don't feel weird at all.
Well, except for the fact that my head hurts and my foot felt like it has gone through hell.
"It just hurts. My head and my foot," I admitted as he then jots it down on his clipboard before nodding. It is obvious that he was not alarmed by what I said. The nurse, on the other hand, came to me just to fix my pillow and see if your bandage on my head is still okay.
I guess I had a bit of an injury but not that deep to cause a memory loss or something.
"That's good to hear," the doctor told me before he continued to see my frightened expression, "And don't worry, there are no other critical damages to your head or your foot."
"You just had a bit of dislocation and cuts on the legs because of the fall." I calmed down after he spoke. I thought something bad had happened to my condition. It was a good thing that all I got were just minor injuries.
"All you need to do is to let it heal. Just rest for a few days so you don't get hurt." I nodded as Sam took a deep breath next to me. She didn't even tell me but I knew she was very worried when I fell on that mountain.
Still, it was a wonder how they had got me here that fast.
I heard my doctor speak again about my current condition. "For the meantime, the nurses here will try to re-bandage your legs if ever some cuts reopen."
"By the way, do you know the guys in the other room?" Suddenly the nurse who was taking care of me came in while I just frowned. Guys? Maybe my classmates.
Turning my attention to Sam, I heard the nurse adding up another info. "I heard that they also went to Scarlet Peaks. Those boys in their jerseys. Maybe players of a university."
"I'm sorry but I don't know them." This is all that I said while the nurse just nodded as if she understood me. To be honest, I don't want to think that those guys were actually from La Salle. There are still many possibilities that they came from another university, right?
After a few minutes, they immediately said goodbye to us. The doctor just smiled at me before the nurse next to him spoke. "We will leave you first. Rest there first, Miss Guanzon."
They immediately left the room and then I saw my classmate say goodbye to eat. Of course, I just nodded and waited for Sam and I to stay in the room. When the door closed, Sam quickly confronted me.
"Do you think that's them?" I raised an eyebrow.
I shook my head at her. "Why would that be them?"
"I mean, the nurse said players from a university? You know." She then shrugged afterward, almost telling me that it was already obvious. But, I'm not going to believe anything unless I saw them personally.
"Besides, didn't they mention that before?" she added before raising her hand just to quote, "Banahaw."
I laughed. That's impossible. I'm pretty sure that they're not even planning the trek yet. They said that but it looks like it's just a plan. "It's impossible for them to trek today. Out of all the days?"
"All right." After a few minutes, we heard a loud crash from next door. Sam jumped a little when he heard the loud voices of the guys in the other room.
"These guys. They're still a mess." She couldn't believe it and frowned. I just smiled at Sam. When I saw the remote beside my hand, I tried to pick it up and give it to my friend. Maybe it's better to just let go of the noise than to fight them.
I then suggested, "Let's just turn on the tv so we can't hear them."
Fortunately, she agreed with what I said, took the remote, and immediately turned on the tv to spend time. "Even better."
Another crash.
Sam got even angrier with them so she immediately stood up. She was about to mess up her hair when she heard a loud laugh. "They're not really stopping, aren't they?"
"Hey! Don't make any noise!" My eyes widened once she yelled.
"Sam, please. That's enough," I told her as she screamed. I don't want anyone to fight us right away at this time. Especially if I can't move properly and rest in this hospital.
"Hey, you guys outside! Shut up! You're being too loud!"
"Then, you stop!" A man answered her. I could do nothing but go to shame. My friend again.
"If I were you, miss, I wouldn't shout," the man added as Sam was about to go to their room and fight them.
"You started this mess and you're asking me to shut up?" Sam shouted back as I grabbed a pillow and threw it at Sam as she turned around. She was surprised as I gave her that as a warning. A frown formed on her face.
"Claire, I can't just let them. The noise is so—" But this time, a glare stopped her from arguing. It would have been easier if she hadn't argued.
"Miss, what now? Have you stopped yet? Finally some peace---" But, he still couldn't help but answer. He raised his voice even more so that he could be heard more on the other side.
"I'm still here so shut up!"
"Warfreak!"
"How dare you!"
Hiding my face in embarrassment, I sighed. I hope they'll stop later. It's still embarrassing in this hospital that we are the patient and we are the ones making all that ruckus.
"I hope this day ends really quickly."
