LINKS POV
"Carolyn was at the trial?" My mom said surprised.
"Yeah, I think we were all shocked," I said, "she wanted to make up with Amelia."
"Wow," My mom said, "did Amelia take her up on that?"
"Yeah she did," I smiled, "she wanted to forgive her mother and start over."
"Well that's wonderful," my mom said, "is Amelia coming over for dinner?"
"I think that's still the plan," I said.
"Why don't you tell her that Carolyn can come over too," my mom smiled, "as long as they're all good I wouldn't want to cause any issues."
"I'll give her a call okay?" I said.
"Oh and what happened to Ryan?" My mom asked. My mon couldn't bear to go to the trial. She loved Amelia so much, but all of her pain hurt my mom too. My mom couldn't listen to Amelia talk about the rape and Ryan make it all her fault.
"15 years," I said as I grabbed my phone and walked into the other room to call Amelia.
"Hey honey," I said as I sat down on the couch.
"Hey," She said.
"How's it going with your mom?" I asked.
"Great," she said, "there's forgiveness."
"That's good," I said, "so what if you and your mom came to dinner?"
"We are on the same wavelength honey," she giggled, "my mom would love to come over and see your mom."
"Great, we'll see you soon?" I asked.
"You will," she giggled. I hung up and walked back into the kitchen.
"Are they coming?" My mom asked.
"Yeah," I said.
"Well that's good," my mom said, "I feel like I haven't seen Amelia in a while."
"I know," I said, "I know she misses you."
"I miss her too," my mom said.
AMELIAS POV
This could be a really bad idea. I don't know. I kinda forgave her. New beginnings I guess. I put makeup on to cover the few bruises left and put on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. My hair was still curly from this morning and I walked downstairs.
"Are you ready?" I asked my mom and I grabbed my keys.
"You got you drivers license," she said.
"You've been gone for a while," I said. Last time I saw her I only had my drivers permit.
"Wow," she frowned, "did you pass on the first try?"
"I did," I said, "let's go." I unlocked my car and she got in the passenger seat.
"This is weird," she said.
"Yeah," I chuckled, "I'm a good driver I promise."
"Derek taught you how to drive?" She asked.
"Yeah," I said as we started to drive to Link's house.
"He did a good job," she chuckled.
"There was a lot of yelling and breaking involved," I chuckled as I parked on his driveway and grabbed my key.
"You have a key?" My mom asked.
"Yeah," I chuckled.
"A lot has changed," she said.
"Suppose so," I said and knocked before opening the door. I opened the door and Link walked down the stairs.
"Hey," he smiled and kissed me, "Hi Carolyn."
"Hi Link it's nice to see you," my mom said.
"You too," Link said. My mom walked into the kitchen to be with Maureen and Link gave me a look.
"I need an explanation," he laughed. I chuckled as I grabbed his arm and we sat down in the other room.
"I don't know what happened, she just she was sorry and that she missed a lot and she wanted another chance. I mean it's been so long so have to admit I've missed her," I said, "So I forgave her."
"I'm proud of you," he said.
"She seems upset with everything she's missed," I frowned "but I guess that's what happens."
"Yeah," Link said, "well I'm glad you two are okay now."
"Me too," I said, "maybe my life can go back to normal."
"I hope so, you deserve it," he said and kissed me.
"I'll probably come back to school this week," I said.
"That's good, we all miss you," he said.
"You mean you and Jo miss me," I laughed.
"Same difference," he said.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," he said.

Dinner actually wasn't awkward. My mom was behaving which was probably the first time I have ever said that. She was respectful and everything. Crazy. Dinner was nice. I got to see Maureen and all was good. I felt safe today. Ryan was behind bars and my mom was back in my life. I loved Link more than anything. Maybe my life was turning around.
