A few days later
AMELIAS POV
"Amelia!" Meredith called. It was after school. Link had to do something with his mom today so I was home with Meredith and Derek.
"What?" I said as I walked down the stairs. I saw Derek at the door, and Jo was outside. She was crying.
"Jo's here," Meredith said. I pushed past Derek and hugged her.
"Jo what's wrong?" I said and looked at her.
"Can I come in?" She asked.
"Of course you can," I said, "are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"Alex left me," she said.
"Oh Jo," I frowned as I hugged her tightly. They had been dating for a little over two years too.
"I can't breathe," she cried.
"It's going to be okay, why don't we talk upstairs okay?" I said. She nodded and we walked upstairs. We sat down on my bed and she looked at me.
"He left me for Izzie," Jo said. Izzie was Alex's ex girlfriend who he dated from 7th-9th grade before they started dating in 10th.
"He went back to her?" I said. She nodded.
"I don't know what she has that I don't," she cried.
"No Jo don't do that. It's nothing you did. It's him. He's the jerk and douche. There's nothing wrong with you. Absolutely nothing," I said.
"He understood me," she cried, "he knew what it was like to be abandoned by your parents and foster parents and he abandoned me!" I pulled her into a hug as she cried into my chest. I rubbed her back as I let her cry it out.
"Do you want me to call Link?" I asked. I was close to Jo but she was the closest to Link. They were best friends.
"No he's doing stuff with his mom," she said.
"Okay," I said, "why don't we watch TV or something."
"I don't want to," she said.
"What if I brought you ice cream and candy?" I said.
"Maybe," she chuckled and I laughed.
"I'll be back," I said. I walked downstairs and texted Link.
"Call me when you can," I sent. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed two ice cream bowls.
"Is she okay?" Derek asked.
"Alex left her," I said.
"What?" Meredith frowned, "I thought they were in love."
"She did too," I said sadly.
"If she needs anything you can of course tell her she can ask or stay the night," Derek said, "whatever she needs."
"Thank you," I smiled. I loved how much they both cared for Jo and Link. They were so kind to both of them. I walked back upstairs with ice cream and candy and Jo was still in bed.
"Look what I have," I smiled.
"Thanks," she said.
"Wanna stay the night?" I asked.
"You don't mind?" She asked.
"Of course I don't mind Jo," I said.
"Okay," she nodded. I turned the TV on and put on some random movie and Jo snuggled into me. She was really quiet and I felt bad. I heard her sniffling and I rubbed her back.
"Jo it'll be okay," I said softly.
"How is it going to be okay?" She cried.
"Just think of it this way, you know he wasn't the one now," I said.
"I don't care about that," she cried, "he didn't even explain anything he just left me!" My phone rang and it was Link.
"I'm so sorry it's work," I lied.
"Don't go," she said softly.
"I won't I just have to answer it," I said and grabbed my phone and walked into the bathroom.
"Hey sorry I just got your message. Everything okay? Are you okay?" Link asked.
"I'm fine, it's Jo," I said, "Alex left her for Izzie Stevens."
"What?" Link said.
"Yeah, I know," I said.
"Where is she? Is she okay? Why didn't she tell me?" He asked
"She knew you were doing stuff with your mom and she didn't want you to drop that for her. She's at my house right now," I said.
"Okay I'm coming over. How is she?" Link asked.
"Heart broken," I sighed.
"I'll be over in 5," he said.
"Thank you," I said. I walked out of the bathroom and Jo looked over at me.
"Is he coming over?" She asked, knowing I wasn't on the phone with the hospital.
"Yeah, he's worried about you," I said.
"Thanks," she said, "for letting me stay here and stuff."
"You're welcome," I said. After a few minutes the doorbell rang.
"Wanna go downstairs with me?" I asked. She shook her head no. I walked downstairs and Derek opened the door to Link.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," Link said.
"How's Jo?" Derek asked.
"Not great," I frowned.
"Did you tell her she could stay?" Derek asked. I nodded and Link and I walked upstairs.
"Jo look who's here," I said. She looked over and a small smile appeared when she saw Link.
"Hi," Jo said.
"Hey," Link said. We both sat on either side of her and she wiped her eyes.
"Can I beat him up," Link said.
"No," Jo chuckled.
"Fine I'll beat him up," I joked and Jo nudged me.
"You guys are good friends," Jo said.
"That's what we're here for," Link said and hugged her.
"How was the thing with your mom?" Jo asked.
"It was fine, she wanted to organize some shelves in her office and kinda re do it," Link said.
"That's fun," I said.
"Yeah," he said.
"Wanna get pizza for dinner?" I asked Jo.
"I don't care," Jo shrugged.
"Okay," I said, "Link are you staying?"
"Sure," Link said.
LINKS POV
I felt really awful for Jo. She loved Alex so much. She always told me how they understood each other because they were both in and out of foster homes. And now he left her. She was really upset but Amelia and I were trying to make her feel better. We were eating pizza in Amelia's room and playing cards against humanity. Jo seemed better. It was good to see her smile after all of the crying.
"Whoever put this one wasn't funny," Amelia said, "Link."
"How'd you know it was me?" I chuckled.
"Because I have better humor than you," Jo laughed.
"Agreed," Amelia joked. I nudged her and she chuckled.
"Jo your turn," Amelia said and handed her a pile of cards. I just hoped Jo could bounce back after this.
