TW: Drug Abuse and Domestic Violence
AMELIAS POV
Ryan and I were both so high. It felt so good. We were laying on his bed and I smiled.
"I love you," he said as he kissed me.
"I love you too," I said.
"It feels good doesn't it?" He said.
"It does," I giggled. My phone started buzzing and I looked over at it.
"Is it that stupid brother of yours?" He muttered.
"No," I said. I looked at it and it was Link asking about our Spanish assignment.
"Who is it?" He asked and grabbed my phone.
"Give it back," I said and reach over him.
"Why why are you hiding?" He said and pushed me away.
"Ryan give it back," I said.
"Are you cheating on me?" He yelled.
"No!" I said.
"Who the hell is this guy?" He said and threw my phone at me.
"Ryan he's just at my Spanish class I promise!" I said.
"Do you think I'm that stupid?" He said and pushed me back onto the bed.
"I'm not hiding anything!" I yelled at him.
"Delete his number," he said and got up.
"He's just a classmate!" I said.
"You're such an idiot," he said and hit me. So hard. It hurt. Just like every other time he hit me. It was usually my chest or stomach where nobody could see it.
"Get off me!" I said.
"Amelia I didn't mean it!" He said.
"Just like you didn't mean the last time?" I said.
"We're both high just listen to me!" He said.
"I'm leaving," I said.
"Amelia," he said and pushed me back and my back hit the corner of his dresser.
"Ryan please," I begged.
"Get out then," he said.
"Why do you treat me like this?" I said as I could feel tears form in my eyes.
"Just get out," he said.
"Ryan!" I said sadly.
"GET OUT OF THE GODDAMN HOUSE," he said. I ran down the stairs and put the front door. I couldn't drive home. He couldn't drive home. We were both so high. I called an Uber and had to act sober so it wasn't suspicious. I wiped my eyes and got out of the Uber as I walked up my driveway. I stumbled with my keys as I opened the front door and started crying. I was tired of it. I was tired of him. I loved him so much. But I was tired. I walked down to the bathroom and lifted my shirt and saw a black and blue start to form on my back.
"Shit," I said. I touched it lightly and it stung, just like the other ones on my body. I hide it really well, but it's getting harder. There's 2 on my thighs and a few on my chest. I thought about breaking up with him, but I couldn't. I needed the drugs. It was worth it for the drugs. I had to sleep off my high before Meredith and Derek got home. They couldn't know.
DEREKS POV
"Do you think Ryan is at our house?" I said as I got in the car with Meredith.
"No," she said, "she said she was going there."
"I hate that guy," I said.
"I know," Meredith said, "she really loves him though."
"He is so bad for her," I said as I started driving home, "Last time they were together they did drugs."
"Do you think she still is?" Meredith asked.
"No," I said, "I sure hope not." I pulled in the driveway and unlocked the front door and Amelia was asleep on the couch. We quietly came inside and I started making dinner. After a while I heard Amelia get up.
"How was work?" Amelia asked groggily. She looked like she had been crying before she fell asleep.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Long day," she said as she sat down.
"How was school?" Meredith asked.
"It was fine," Amelia said.
"Did you see Ryan after school?" I asked.
"Derek," Meredith said.
"I went over there for a little while," Amelia said.
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Watched a movie," Amelia said. Meredith started making dinner and Amelia looked like she was starting her homework.
AMELIAS POV
I stepped out of the shower and I finished all my homework for tomorrow. I was on my phone and realized I never texted Link back.
"Hey sorry I just saw this. Something came up. The homework is pages 17-20," I sent.
"Thanks I got it," he sent.
"Sorry for the late response," I sent.
"It's okay," he sent.
"Okay," I sent.
"How was your day?" He asked.
"It was okay, how was yours?" I sent.
"Good, sorry your day wasn't great," he sent.
"It's okay, not your fault," I said.
"I hope you have a better day tomorrow," he sent. Link was kind. He was sweet. The opposite of Ryan. But the drugs. I needed the drugs. It was just bruises. They'll go away. Eventually.
