Chapter 9

Nang dahil sa gulat ay biglang naitulak ni Josh si Nicole. "What was that?" He asked, confused.

Nicole breathed heavily before avoiding his gaze. "See? You can't even do it."

Humiga ito sa kama at nagkumot bago siya tinalikuran. Josh licked his lips and brushed his hair upwards before deciding to go out of her room. He needs fresh air. It's suffocating inside.

Nang makalabas siya ay doon lang 'ata siya nakahinga ng maluwag. Napahilamos siya sa mukha niya at problemadong tumingin sa pintuan ng hospital room ni Nicole.

He didn't expect it from her. The kiss. It's the second time that they've kissed but the case is, their situation now is different. He was drunk that time and now Nicole was raped! And for fuck sake they're bestfriends! He treat her as her sister, not as a woman. This is making him insane, damn.

Kinapa niya ang bulsa para kunin ang phone niya upang tawagan ang magulang ni Nicole. Uuwi muna siya para maligo at para malinawan sa nangyayari. Pero naalala niya na iniwan niya palang nakacharge ang phone niya sa bahay. Tsaka nanghiram lang din pala siya kay Stefania ng telepono kanina para tawagan ang magulang ni Nicole. Tsk.

But his prayers was heard when he saw Nicole's brother approaching. Josh brows furrowed. Kelan pa 'to nakauwi galing sa states?

"Hey kid. Nice to see you again. Si Nicole?" Bungad na tanong nito sa kanya nang makalapit. Madilim ang mukha nito at seryosong tumingin sa pintuan ng room ni Nicole.

"She's sleeping inside."

"How's she?" Tanong ni Elton sa kanya. Nandito sila sa canteen ng ospital. Umiinom ng kape. Ang plano niyang umuwi ay naudlot nang ayain siya nitong makipag-usap.

"Obviously, she's not fine. Her memories keeps hunting her. Traumatized si Nicole. I'm sorry for not keeping my promise to you. Hindi ko siya nabantayan ng maayos, Kuya." Nakatulala lang si Josh sa kape niya.

Elton breathed heavily. "I want to punched you right now, cursed you to death and blame you for what happened to her, but I'm not that immature to do that. It's not your fault. I'll find the culprits and make them pay. I'll fucking cut their dick for raping my sister." Elton's jaw clenched.

Naintindihan niya ang nararamdaman nito ngayon. Pati siya ay ganoon din ang nararamadaman. He wants to kill for her. He wants to give her justice that she deserves. But he's still a minor. He can't do anything. He felt so useless.

Elton is staring at him. "I know you're also protective to her and you want to kill them like I wanted. But you can't because you're still seventeen. Pero kahit hindi ka minor you're still not allowed to kill, so am I. But I will make sure to catch the suspects first and give them their dose of medicine before giving them to the authorities." Kitang-kita sa mata ni Elton ang poot at galit na nararamdaman nito.

Josh remained silent. He don't know what to say.  Napatingin siya kay Elton nang magsalita ito ulit.

Elton is looking at him seriously. "Take care of her. Don't make her feel she's a burden. Ibigay mo ang mga gusto niya. She needs the attention of everyone. I know she hates her life now. My sister is too fragile and you know that kid," Elton sighed.

Josh nodded. Ilang minuto pa silang nag-usap bago nagpaaalam si Josh na uuwi muna. Si Elton muna ang magbabantay kay Nicole hanggat hindi pa siya dumadating. Bumisita lang si Elton para kumustahin ang kalagayan ng kapatid nito at upang hanapin ang mga suspek bago bumalik sa states. Ganoon din ang parents ni Nicole. Kaya siya lang maasahan ng pamilya nito.
