Almost like back then (JJK fanfic)

Chapter 10

***Next morning***

I wake up and start making breakfast for me and Areum, when I receive a message from an unknown number. 

<???. Hey, it's Taehyung. Hope that you don't mind me texting you. Jungkook gave me your number.> 

I smile, remembering the guy from yesterday and decide to answer. 

<Me. Hey, all good :). So what's up?>

<Tae. So, since it's the weekend and we live near each other, do you wanna maybe meet up?>

<Me. Is that meant as a date? Because my cousin Areum is still with me.> 

<Tae. 😂😂. Sure. Think of this as a date but then the little princess has definitely have to be part of the date.>

<Me. Of course, how else?>

<Tae. So it's a date then ;) Anyways. I'll be over soon. Wait for me, I'll be there soon.>

I smile, hang up the phone and say to Areum, "Baby, remember Taehyung?" She nods and I say, "Get ready. He'll be here soon." She smiles and cheers. I quickly clean up the apartment and while Areum is reading a book and waiting for Taehyung, I run to the shower and get ready.

When I get out of the shower and come out with a towel to the living room, I see Areum out of the corner of my eye and nothing else, because I'm busy drying my hair. Then Areum speaks up, "Min Lee. Taehyung already had time to come, so I let him in." I freeze, stand up straight and slowly turn to face Areum.

There sits Taehyung, holding Areum on his lap. He licks his lips and swallows, and then smirks. I swallow and then blush. Then I smile shyly and say, "Okay. I'll be right back, I'll quickly get dressed and finish getting ready." Taehyung smiles and nods, then turns to Areum to look away from me. I go to my room, quickly dry my hair and get ready.

I get downstairs and Taehyung smiles and says, "Wow. You look even better with your clothes on." I smile and sit down on the couch and then ask, "What are we doing?" Taehyung asks me, "When is someone picking up the little princess?"

I shrug and then text Jaehyun. He says he'll pick her up in a couple of hours, so we decide to go out. I lock the apartment, we leave the house and then while we're walking and having a good time, Taehyung pulls out a water bottle and splashes me.

I laugh and yell, "Yo. What the hell?" He smiles and I start running after him, Areum joins me. We end up chasing each other, but then I start running backwards away from Areum and Taehyung, watching them. I slow down and start walking until I bump into someone.

I hear someone drop their phone. I turn around and Taehyung says, "Oh, Kookie? What are you doing here?" I look at the person who owns the dropped phone I just picked up. It's really Jungkook. I mumble an apology, shove the phone in his hand, and step back, walking over to Taehyung. Jungkook notices me and scans me with his eyes.

Then he says, "I live nearby. I came out because I wanted to go for a walk." Areum exclaims, "Oh. Then come with us. We're going for a walk too." I growl, "Areum, no." Areum runs over to Jungkook, hugs him, then pulls him down to her level and says, "Come with us. We're going for a walk too."

Taehyung and I look at each other. Taehyung smiles and raises his eyebrows slyly, I laugh at that. Jungkook asks, "What are your plans now?" Taehyung looks at me and says, "Well, I was going to take them to Lotte World. And then we'll go eat."

Areum asks, "Can Jungkook come with us?" Taehyung and I look at each other again and I say, "Well...uhh, well....ummm...." Taehyung nudges me in the side and says, "Of course, Kookie. Of course, you can come with us. The more, the better."

I look at Taehyung with a frown and scold him with a look. Taehyung understands this and smiles reassuringly at me. Jungkook must see my look and says, "If Min Lee doesn't want to, then I can't go." Taehyung looks at me with a pleading look and then leans in and whispers in my ear, "Y'know. If he comes with us, he can watch Areum and we'll sort of have a real date."

I bite my lip, smile, and say, "Fine, Jungkook. You can come with us." He smiles and then we all get on the bus. I text Jaehyun where we'll be and then we start going.

***Later*** 

When we get to Lotte World, we buy tickets for everyone to a bunch of rides. Taehyung says, "Okay. Let's go to that ride first?" He points to the one he wants to go to. I say, "You mean the tall, scary one?" Jungkook knows I'm afraid of heights, so he looks at me worriedly. I ignore him and say, "Uh, sure." Jungkook raises an eyebrow and looks at me.

I look at him and he whispers, "Maybe we shouldn't?" I decide to ignore him and we slowly walk to the ride. When we get to the entrance of the ride, Jungkook says, "Taehyung, Min Lee is afraid of heights. Maybe let me sit with her this time and you sit with Areum?"

I exclaim, "I'm not afraid of heights. I'm fine." Taehyung asks, "Really? I have no problem riding with Areum this time. I'm sure Jungkook knows how to help you with your fear." I look at him and say, "Let's try other rides first. Then we'll see how it goes."

The guys nod and then Areum grabs Jungkook's hand. Taehyung takes my hand in his and pulls me ahead of him to the rides. Jungkook and Areum follow us at a short distance. I feel Jungkook's burning gaze on the back of my head, but I choose to ignore it.

Then I look at Taehyung, at our hands, at Jungkook and his reaction and quietly ask, "What are you doing?" Taehyung keeps walking, not turning to Jungkook and says, "I'm trying to make Jungkook jealous. Then he'll want you more. Trust me."

I say, "But I don't want him to want me. He has a girlfriend, Tae." Taehyung says, "He ignored you before? He won't be able to ignore you anymore. He's very possessive, especially when it comes to you. You'll see." I sigh and say, "We'll see."
