Chapter 14

***Later*** 

I'm sitting in my room looking at stuff I could take back to Seoul while talking on a video call with Hyun Woo and Hong Bin when suddenly there's a knock on my door. This someone opens the door and comes in. I turn to this someone and it turns out to be my brother Min Seok. I smile and say, "Hey. Did you want something?" He smiles and comes over to me.He hugs me and says, "I love you, baby sis." I laugh and say, "You talk like you're going to die. Are you okay?" He turns me to face my full-length mirror and says, "Stand here." I do. He walks over to my closet and pulls out some clothes. He puts them on me and looks at how they might look on me.

Then he puts them on my bed and says, "We're going to have dinner soon. This looks good. Please put it on." I laugh and say, "You're acting a little weird. Seriously, are you okay?" He smiles and says, "We're starting in 10 minutes. Please be downstairs in 5 minutes."I nod and smile, then Min Seok turns and leaves the room. I look at my phone and ask, "Am I the only one who thinks this was weird?" Hong Bin and Hyun Woo, who are currently at Hyun Woo's place together and are about to play video games, look at each other and shrug. Hyun Woo then says, "Well, it was a little weird, I guess. If this isn't how he usually acts."

I shake my head and then walk over to the bed and look at the clothes that Min Seok puts on the bed for me. I quickly turn off the camera and change, then show myself to the guys and ask, "So? How do I look?" I'm wearing a red short satin dress with naked back

The guys both smile and Hyun Woo says, "You look really good, Min Lee." I put some makeup on my face and put on my earrings. Then I hear my brother's voice outside my room. Min Seok says, "Min Lee, are you ready? Let's go downstairs."

He comes into my room, looks at me, and says, "Oh, baby sis. You look adorable." I smile and thank him. Then he looks at the guys on my phone and waves to them. I pick up the phone, say goodbye to the guys, and hang up. Min Seok leaves the room and tells me to hurry.

I hear him quickly coming down the stairs. A few minutes later, I come too. As I walk down the stairs, I notice my mom looking at me. Then he says, "Oh, honey. You look adorable. Honestly, it's good to see you without your school uniform or any of those big sweatpants you wear."

I laugh, approach her and ask quietly, "Why is Min Seok acting so weird?" Mom shrugs and then says, "Aaaa. By the way, the Jeon family is joining us for dinner today," turning to the living room and pointing at Jungkook and his family.

I freeze and turn to what she's pointing at. Jungkook and I slowly make eye contact and I turn back to my mom. I ask, "Mom, couldn't you tell me sooner?" She smiles and asks, "What's so special about them being here too?" I say, "Jungkook? Remember? That annoying boy who had been ignoring me for a while?"

Mom looks at me and says, "No one is making you talk to him or interact with him while he's here." I sigh and nod. I go to the kitchen to help my dad and brothers get food on the table. After we've brought the food, Min Seok's girlfriend from Canada, Grace, comes out of his room.I smile and hug her with all my might. She hugs me back and says, "Min Lee. I missed you." I reply, "I missed you too." She's like a sister to me. I say, "I'm so glad you're here. At least I won't be so embarrassed." (She learned Korean for my brother and us.)

She smiles and is about to say something to me, but then my mom calls her and she says, "Wait, Min Lee. I'll be right back." I nod, then Jungkook's mom comes over to me, pulls me into a tight hug, and says, "Min Lee, honey. You've grown so much in just a few months."

She loves me like her own daughter and treats me like one. She looks at me and then says, "Oh my. Sweetheart. Have you lost weight? They don't feed you at that school, I can tell. You look so thin. We're going to have to feed you." She looks at me with concern in her eyes, but then Grace comes over, grabs my hand, and says to Jungkook's mom, "I'm sorry, but I'm going to take Min Lee."She pulls me away and I breathe a sigh of relief, then I say, "OMG, thank you. You saved me." She laughs and says, "It looked like you needed help." 

I nod and say, "Of course I love Jungkook's mom, but she takes care of me too much." Grace says, "Anyway, we're not done talking. By "you're going to be uncomfortable, I take it you mean Jungkook?"I nod and Grace asks, "Is he still ignoring you?" I say, "That's... complicated." We're all called to sit at the table and as Grace and I both sit down, she's next to me, she says, "You'll tell me everything later." I smile and nod. Everyone sits down at the table and then Mom announces that dinner has begun.
