Almost like back then (JJK fanfic)

Chapter 11

As we walk around the amusement park, Taehyung keeps touching me a lot and making me smile a lot. Every now and then we check Jungkook's reaction. Most of the time he pretends not to care, but I see him clenching his teeth or clenching his fist.

Later, when we go to a cafe in Lotte World, we order food and it soon arrives. As we start eating, Taehyung tells me to stop and then asks Jungkook to take a picture of us. Jungkook reluctantly complies.

As we start eating for real, I see Taehyung take one hand off the table. Then I feel him place it on my leg, where my skin is bare. His touch is warm and unexpected, and it makes me freeze. Jungkook notices that I'm frozen and stiff, so he tries to sneak a peek.

He notices Taehyung's hand on my leg and accidentally chokes on his food. Taehyung and I look at each other and smile. It worked. We both look at Jungkook and my hand automatically touches his. I pull it away after a second, but it still makes Jungkook look at me.

I ask, "Are you okay?" He swallows his rice and then says, "Uhh, yeah. I just ate too fast, I guess. That's why I choked." Taehyung and I look at each other and go back to eating. By the time we're done eating, there are only a few more rides left to go on.

We go to a few more rides and then we go to the last one, which is the Ferris wheel. When we get to the Ferris wheel, I feel my hands and forehead getting sweaty. And I turn a little pale. Jungkook nods to Taehyung and then Taehyung takes Areum by the hand and they get on the Ferris wheel first.

Then it's my and Jungkook's turn. I get into the glass cabin first. Then Jungkook gets in and closes the door. I approach the wall and feel my breathing getting shallower. I sit down on the ground and look around. This ride should take about 5 minutes.

Jungkook sits down next to me and asks, "Are you okay?" Since it's Jungkook, who knows me well, I don't see the point in lying, so I laugh softly and say, "No." He asks, "Do you want me to sing to you?"

Whenever I'm scared of something, he sings to me and it calms me down. But right now, I don't think it's going to help. So I shake my head. He asks, "Are you sure?" I nod. Then there's silence for about half a minute before I speak. "Jungkook," I ask. He looks up, looks at me, and asks, "Yes?"

I continue, "You're scared of singing in front of people other than me. Why did you decide to enter the talent show? Weren't you scared? How did you overcome your fear?" He looks at me and asks, "Do you really want to know?" I nod and he bites his lip, then says, "I just ignored everyone in the concert hall. And thought about you. I focused on you and kept trying to convince myself that it was only you there."

I smile and say, "For the record, I really liked your performance. You were great. But don't tell anyone." His head snaps up and he happily asks, "Really? You really think so?" I smile and nod. I rest my arms on my legs and then Jungkook puts his hand on my leg. 

Then he smiles and says, "Smooth and soft, as always." But his touch is very high on my leg.....and that's one of my weak spots....He notices me blushing and asks, "Are you okay?" I feel myself getting hot and my face turning red.

Jungkook puts his other hand to my cheek and says, "Min Lee. Don't you have a temperature? Your cheeks are really hot." He pulls a bottle of water out of his bag and hands it to me. Then he finally takes his hand off my leg.

I want to breathe a sigh of relief, but my mouth is full of water, which makes me choke a little and Jungkook laugh. I start to cough and Jungkook pats me on the back gently. After a moment, I stop coughing and Jungkook smiles. Then he asks, "Min Lee. Are you okay today? You're so...weird...today."

I ignore his comment and hand him the bottle back. He unscrews it and starts drinking. Like a baby, cupping the top of the bottle with his lips. It makes me smile. I look at him and as he drinks, I nudge him so that he chokes too. He swallows the water quickly and tries to hold back his laughter. But he can't. He laughs sweetly and it makes me smile too.

I then stand up and notice that we are at the very top of the Ferris wheel, in the middle right now, which makes me turn pale again. Suddenly, a voice comes over the cabin speaker and says, "I'm sorry, but there's been a little technical problem and the Ferris wheel is stuck. But we're working to fix the problem, so you'll be down in 15-20 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience."

I look at Jungkook and tears well up in my eyes. Another 20 minutes here? OMG. I start to panic, but then Jungkook comes over and hugs me. If we weren't in this situation, I would definitely push him away and say something nasty, but since he's the only one who knows about my fear of heights and has experienced it before, he knows how to calm me down.

He sits me down on the ground and then pulls me back into his embrace. I hold him tight until Taehyung suddenly starts calling me. I let go of Jungkook and pick up the phone."Min Lee, are you okay?" I whisper, "Yeah. I just don't want to be stuck here for another 20 minutes. I feel kind of uncomfortable up here." Taehyung agrees and then I guess he realizes that Jungkook is listening intently to our conversation, so he says, "Don't worry. We'll get down and then I'll give you a big hug and never let you go again."

I look over my shoulder at Jungkook and see him poking his cheek with his tongue, which is what he does when he's jealous. It makes me smile a little. Then Taehyung continues, "Anyway, I've already had enough of missing you. I don't like the fact that you're with someone else. When we get downstairs, I'm going to take you home and make you mine forever."

I blush and am about to answer, but then Jungkook snatches the phone out of my hand and hangs up. I look at him and ask, "What the hell are you doing?" He says, "I don't like it when you talk nonsense like that."

I ask, "Who said it was nonsense?" Jungkook says, "Me. There can't be anything serious between you." I ask: "Why can't there be?" He says: "Because....it can't." I feel the distance between us slowly closing. Then I say: "What's wrong with Taehyung? He's young, handsome, smart, talented and very nice to me."

Jungkook says: "You can't have anything to do with him." I ask: "Why can't you?" Jungkook replies: "Because I forbid it. He's my best friend." I ask: "So what? You're with Lisa, so I could just as easily be with Taehyung."

He says: "I don't care. I don't want you to be with Taehyung." I ask: "Aaaaa, so it's better with Jimin? Okayy. Give me his number." Jungkook shakes his head and says, "You can't be with anyone." I can see that Jungkook is already poking his cheek with his tongue very angrily. So I go deeper into the conversation, not knowing what to expect.

I ask, "Why? Who are you to me to forbid me from being in a relationship with someone? You're nothing to me. You lost that right when you started ignoring me. Now you're nothing to me, understand? Nothing. You're a nobody to me now." I start to think I've crossed the line the moment Jungkook stands up angrily.

I stand up too and he asks, "Nothing? Am I really nothing to you?" I nod and then he comes closer to me. With each step he takes, he lowers his voice and says, "Huh....I'm nothing to you? Interesting." I ask quietly, "Why is that?" Jungkook, who had his back to me, now turns very quickly towards me and comes so close that there is only a few centimeters between our bodies.

He brings his face closer to mine and says, "I think we both know you're lying." I swallow and ask, "Lying about what?" He says, "About me being nothing to you. That I'm a nobody." I shake my head and he says, "Oh really?" I nod and then he mutters quietly, "But I don't believe you." After muttering that, he lowers his gaze from my eyes to my lips.
