Chapter 12 : Desperation Part 4

Alphonso Willis POV:

A small artificial earthquake created by a dragon, using its body weight it can shake the surrounding ground. Not only that, dragons can breathe out all-burning fire.

Even though the dragon that I am fighting has a small size, with this I can call the dragon a walking natural disaster.

I punched the body of the dragon that was being distracted, releasing electricity that could temporarily stop its movement.

"Ethan! It is time!" I shouted.

"Alright!" Ethan started running, stepping on the ground pedestal of Rafael's life element, he arrived near the dragon's head.

Ethan started jumping by the horn that was near the dragon's eye. He stabbed the dragon's left eye with the claws of his spirit weapon many times. Ethan jumped over his head and ran to the other eye and did the same. It made the dragon lose both of its eyes.

Due to the attack from Ethan the dragon screamed in pain. Taking an opportunity where the dragon can't see, Rafael uses his magic life element where the ground collides all over the dragon's body causing the dragon to stop moving.

I started running towards the dragon's neck, stretched all the fingers of my right hand and sprinkled all the electric life elements into one hand with this I created like an electric sword in my right hand.

I, who had arrived at the neck of a defenseless dragon, swung my hand swiftly through the dragon's neck. My slash made the dragon's head fall to the ground.

This raid was finished for a while, for some reason no dragon had come out of the dimensional crack earlier. From the plan we discussed earlier, the group will immediately help other groups who are still in battle.

Not only Mr. Kenneth's group, Mort's group wasn't around either. I started looking around, looking for where the other groups were.

"Where did the two groups go?" Rafael asks where he is as well as being worried about where the other group went.

"They're not around here. Maybe they were fighting a dragon in another area." Ethan assumed.

"Guys, look!" Rafael pointed his index finger at a place.

I focused my eyes on the direction he was pointing at. I was shocked to see what was there. Another dimensional crack appeared in another area.

Suddenly I felt a very big earthquake occur, my hunch shows that the origin of the earthquake is in the place where the second dimensional crack appeared.

For a while we saw a group from a distance who was running. "A-A group is coming! J-Judging from the members, that group is the group led by Mort... B-But something was weird, why weren't their leaders around?" Rafael analyzes what is going on.

After careful attention, it was Mort's group. But strangely Mort was not there, but Mr. Kenneth who was on his shoulder and his missing right arm.

Curious about what happened, we ran over to them and asked. "What's going on?"

Lynn, who saw Mr. Kenneth injured, quickly ran to heal him. "What has happened? Hang on Uncle Kenneth!"

"We have to quickly leave this city now! That thing is a real monster! The first group has been annihilated where only the commando have survived." A soldier running while carrying Mr. Kenneth, explained.

"Wait a minute! Before that, where's Mort!" I ask.

Their faces all changed, their faces trembled as they said. "Young leaders stay behind to give us time to leave this city."

I was in shock hearing what they had to say, and I didn't want to believe it. they all left my best friends behind against the monsters they feared.

"If what you guys said is true, then we should get out of this city while we still have time." Ethan drew his conclusion.

I bit my lip out, my anger said. "What the hell do you guys think?! We can't let Mort stay alone there!"

They remain silent, no one seems to think the same as me. I walked away and said. "It looks like you only think of yourself. If so, I'll go alone. I will not leave my best friend to die in this place!"

"Wait!" A woman's voice stopped me from stepping forward, after I saw back it turned out that it was Lynn who stopped me. "I will come with you!" Lynn offered to come with me to save Mort.

Ethan grabbed Lynn by the wrist hard and said. "Lynn! Don't go! Are you crazy?!"

"Yes, I can't let you come with me; I'll be killed by Mort if I let you come!" I helped stop Lynn from coming with me.

"I'm still coming! Don't worry about Uncle Kenneth, I've already closed the wound, so he's not in a dangerous condition. Also, I think it's good if I come along, because if something happens to Mort. I can heal the wounds. I want to repay him when he helps me in Aquaria." Lynn gave her reasons for coming with me.

What Lynn said had a point too. If my fitting got there and Mort was seriously injured, I could not heal the wound and in the end Mort could die. But if I take Lynn with me, Mort will surely kill me if he survives. Well, I'll deal with that problem when the time comes.

I nodded. "Okay, you can come with me, Lynn. But promise me that you don't get hurt! Because it's for the good of yourself and Mort." I accepted Lynn's offer on several conditions.

Because Lynn came with me, I could see Ethan's face screaming. "Why would you want to risk yourself for that guy?! I do not understand!" Ethan bit his teeth hard. "Do whatever you want to do! I do not care anymore!"

I saw Ethan showing a very angry and vengeful expression. I know that Ethan likes Lynn, so he confesses to her at that time. I want to support Ethan, but when it comes to Lynn, I prefer to help Mort.

Not arguing for long, everyone started leaving this city except me and Lynn who went together to save someone.

We ran as fast as we could to the place where a second dimensional crack appeared, and we were almost there. The sound of weapon collisions started to enter our ears. We immediately add to our running pace so that it arrives faster.

Looking from behind, Mort was still fighting a dragon that looked different from the other dragons. I felt goosebumps seeing that dragon, that dragon that people say is a monster that has killed all the members of Mr. Kenneth's group.

"Alphonso, it is the dragon queen! You mustn't fight the queen!" Indra told and warned me the identity of the creature Mort was dealing with.

"Dragon queen?! That being is dangerous right?"

"Mort also looks badly hurt. Let's help him!" Lynn said where she showed a worried face.

I realized Mort was in danger, the queen opened her mouth wide and tried to devour Mort who was in the air where Mort could not avoid the queen's attack.

I ran first leaving Lynn behind because there were no Noes around. I tried to shorten my distance and chant.

[Tempesta]

A thunderstorm struck the dragon queen, the attack made the queen stop her attack and protect herself using the wings she had.

I arrived at Mort who was lying on the ground startled and taking a breath. He was analyzing what had happened and the analysis got the result after he saw me where I was giving him a hand.

With a shocked and confused face, he asked. "Why... Why are you here, Alp?"

I gave a smirk and said to him. "Why? That's because we are friends, you idiot!"
