The bright light made me open my eyelids, which was full moon light shining outside the glass window entering through my eyelids. I'm starting to fully open my eyes and look around.

I was in bed; the needle pierced the skin in my hand, connected to a plastic bag of clear liquid that I didn't know what kind.

It turned out that I was in the hospital. I saw the wall; the clock already points to the number twelve.

Seeing my mother leaning her head on the side bed with my father with his left hand around my mother's neck, I woke myself in a sitting position. Both of my parents in a second got up and saw me.

While smiling, I gestured with a small, awkward wave to them. "H-Hi Mom, Hi Dad."

His child was awake and hugging me with her warm hands. "Oh, Mort! My Boy!!"

She arrived in front of me with her arms around my waist, gripping with all her strength, afraid that I might go again if she let go.

"Oh... My Son! It's good to see you alright!" My father was cupping my head in his big hard hands to get a better look at my face. He broke down while placing his large hand on the back of my head, bringing my forehead to touch his.

Our brief family reunion continued on. My mother sobbed uncontrollably, embracing me, and my oblivious father cried too but with control of his powerful expression and I just looked at each other with tears in our eyes, all of us glad that I was still alive.

Eventually, we had all settled down.

After that, the doctor explained what had happened to me. My friend Alp took me to the hospital and contacted my parents. A bus hit me, but there was no fracture or internal bleeding, only a scratch.

It's just that my left eye was suffering from a collision, so it took several days to heal, but my right eye had a discolored pupil to become Gray color. This should never have happened in the medical world.

These changes made the doctor confused about the cause, but there was no problem with my sight. The doctor also said that I could go back home and be able to remove the bandages covering my left eye at night.

I see my mother and father smiling with a warm smile, and they together said. "Happy Birthday Mort!" I smiled at them; it looks like I made it on my sixteenth birthday.

---

The sun had shone brightly above my head; they discharged me from the hospital. My father who was waiting in the red car was ready to take me and my mother home.

I, who looked out the car window, saw various buildings and people who missed because the speed of the car was running with my one eye.

My mother, who turned her head towards the back to where I was sitting. "Honey... Are you alright? What about your eyes?" Chimes in a look of concern on her face.

My father by looking at my face in the mirror. "Yeah... How do you feel, Mort?" asked me about my situation while driving the car.

I smirk. "I'm fine dad mom; I feel better! Look!" raising my right hand to form a ninety-degree angle, showing that I'm feeling much better.

"Today we should have your birthday party," My mother said, while putting her palm on her flat. "But because of the recent incident, we don't seem to celebrate today." She looks disappointed that she can't give my birthday party.

"Maybe next time, Mary..." dad said while putting his left hand to my mother's shoulder.

I'm showing my smile. "It's okay mom, next time is good."

My words and my smile make my parents smile back at me. Making the atmosphere inside the car felt much warmer and lighter.

A few minutes on the road, the car slows down and eventually stops. My mother and I got out of the car first, while my father parked the car backward.

We both enter the house together. My Mother goes straight to the kitchen to prepare lunch for us.

By surprise, a High voice stopped me from going any farther. "Brother!!!" My little sister ran and hugged me tightly, so I couldn't escape.

She rubbed her face against my shirt, wiping away the tears on her face. "Have you recovered? You don't gonna die, are you?"

I give a smile that reaches her eyes. "I'm fine now, Emily." I can see that my sister is anxious; I put my hand on her head while dragging her while smiling, making her even more cry.

Lunch was ready. The smell of soup that I like mixed with other foods made the four of us gather at the dining table where the food was ready to eat.

I took the food from the table and put the delicious food into my mouth. Seeing the atmosphere of eating with my family, I smiled, feeling grateful to still live and seeing the atmosphere with my family.

While chewing my food, I suddenly thought about where that mysterious voice called Manes went after I had lost consciousness?
