Chapter 6 : Aquaria Part 3

Mort Krueger POV:

I'm dead... I'm definitely dead now... This is cruel for me; Lynn's innocent behaviors and her cute face are killing me!

"I'm sorry to say this, my lord, but I think you are pathetic now." Manes say in a disappointed voice in my mind.

"... Shut up! I know that!"

I noticed that I am pathetic. But can you hold back on witnessing Lynn like that? First, she said this was like a date, already she gave a cute face to me when she failed to catch a dolphin doll in the crane game, also as she mimicked the puffer fish by expanding its cheeks.

Who can resist that?! Did she really consider this as a date? I don't know anymore.

"Mort," She took my hand. "Let's enter this place, this place sounds fun!" Lynn invited me to enter a ride with her.

Just before we entered the room, I saw a sign warning that whoever used this ride would make us wet.

"Lynn," I pointed towards the sign. "The sign says that this attraction can make us wet. Do you want to ride it? We didn't bring our change of clothes."

"It's okay, it might just get a little wet." Said with another smile.

Well, I can't say no to that kitty-like face, so I follow her into the ride.

We've been waiting in line to play on these rides for fifteen minutes until finally it's our turn.

Before getting on the rides, we store all our belongings such as our smartphone, and also my jacket in the locker provided, so it does not get wet from the rides.

I discover a small boat which we have to get on to play this ride. The small ship had only two seats. Is this a ride for a couple?! I felt embarrassed. Why is Lynn so relaxed on rides like this? Or must I think too much?

Lynn first got on the small boat, causing me to sit on her left. When I was seated, the boat went into the dark tunnel. But it turned out the tunnel was not too dark because of the help of candlelight.

The tunnel seems long; I listen to the sound of water and also the sound of my heart beating. I'm sweating. I hoped she didn't hear it, did she?

I sat with Lynn a lot closer than when we sat side by side in class. The distance between my shoulders and her shoulders was only two centimeters apart.

"Hey Mort, are you already sixteen years old now?" she asked with lowered her head.

With a focused gaze, I asked. "Yes, why?"

Her head tilted downward. "I haven't... You know the news about an accident that happened to a sixteen years old person, right? I listened to the news in our class; it also involved many of them in these accidents. The truth is, I became a little scared hearing the news."

I can hear her trembling voice in this tunnel echo. It made my heart feel heavy listening and seeing her with a terrified face. That's right, I almost forgot about it... Lynn was frightened of the events that had happened in recent days.

I might be capable of preventing that from happening to her by using the Dead Eye I have, but I'm terrified to use it on Lynn.

I also don't use it on my family because I'm terrified to see the rest of their life.

Even when I used my Dead Eye, I had to be with Lynn most days until her sixteen birthdays to prevent that from happening to her.

"Hey Mort!" Lynn's last high-pitched call brought me back from deep thought. "Ah... Sorry, what is wrong?" I didn't realize earlier that Lynn had called my name many times because I was thinking too desperately.

With her eyes frozen open, she points with her index finger towards the middle of darkness tunnel. "Is that part of the attraction?" giving a slightly trembling voice.

I directly stood up a little and tried to look where Lynn was pointing. The first thing I saw were red eyes in the middle of this dark tunnel.

After I focused my eyes towards it, I directly identified the figure that Lynn was frightened of. Long jaw filled with razor-sharp teeth and skin covered in green scales. Crocodile? No... Crocodile doesn't stand using two feet.

"My lord, be careful! It's Noes!" Manes warned me through my mind that the creature in front of me was not a crocodile but a Noes stood waiting for our ship to reach it.

How can Lynn see Noes? She has not even become a holder... and how that Noes can be here?

The Noes right away realized that we were aware of his existence, making him run towards us.

It would be tough fighting if Lynn was here, I took out the Manes weapon in my left hand; I brandished my weapon at the Noes, but Noes's step back made my attack miss.

That Noes started opened his mouth wide; I noticed a small fire bright in its mouth. Is he going to use a burst of fire breath on us? This is bad!

Lynn was still shaking to know Noes in front of her. I cover Lynn's head with a darkness life element sphere that fills with air. I grabbed Lynn and jumped off our ship to dive into the water, keeping that Noes fiery breath from affecting us.

The crocodile Noes was looking for us around him. I swim in the water. Swimming around and appearing behind the Noes. My sudden appearance behind it made Noes startled and started striking me who was behind it.

"... Too late!"

My swing was faster than Noes's reflex, allowing me to injure Noes's back where my attack split open Noes's spine.

The Noes fell, I opened the contact lens of my left eye to make sure Noes was dead. Black light flashed around Noes's body. So Noes is dead.

I get rid of Manes's weapon, put my contact lens back, and start again checking on Lynn's State. I lifted her from the water and eliminated the darkness life element that I used covering her head. Her eyes were closed, I checked if she was still breathing.

Thank goodness! She is okay...

I shook her body trying to wake her and tried to call her name many times, "Lynn! Lynn..."

After being called many times, he still didn't wake up. But things like this seem bad. A woman who drenched unconsciously in front of me. Circumstances like this, I saw a lot in the film. A woman who needs artificial breath!

Should I give her a breath? Means I'll kiss Lynn! Wait, I need to calm down. I have to, because Lynn's life is in my hands. I stopped thinking. I opened her mouth and brought my lips slowly to hers with my eyes closed.

When my head approached Lynn's face, Lynn then woke up in a panic. Because she suddenly woke up, making our foreheads hit. Our pain beats in the same place. Did Lynn know that I wanted to give her the breath?

While rubbing my forehead I asked. "Are you okay, Lynn?" I asked her current condition to make sure nothing happens to her body.

"I think I have a weird dream-" She looks behind me where the corpse of Noes I defeated is located, making her realize that everything she looked at is true. "So, it wasn't a dream... What is that creature? It doesn't seem like a crocodile."

I nodded. "Yeah... It doesn't,"

I started thinking either I should explain all the things that have happened in this world, or I have to lie to her. She could see Noes earlier, but how? If she could look at Noes, it would be useless if I lied to her. She would know everything later.

Okay... I'll explain everything to her.
