Riley's POV

The next day Mac, Bozer and Jack head out as the field agents. Mac hugs me and we tell each other we love each other and all I can think is I hope that's not the last time I'll ever say that to him. Leanna, Russ, Matty, Mia and I stay in the war room dealing with the technical parts of this mission. "So I'm not the only one who's gonna be a mom soon." Leanna says smiling at me. I just smile back and we keep working. Mia would watch me and catch something I did wrong. She would usually tell me unless she thought I would see it in a second. "Is this what you usually do on missions Rye rye?" She asks me. "It depends sometimes they need me in the field and sometimes they don't." I say. She nods understanding what I mean.

Once the boys land we direct Jack to where the new codex is supposedly hiding. "Great it's a creepy old building. You know I'm starting to think this is a nightmare or a horror movie." Jack says. All of us roll our eyes at this. Only Jack would take something like this and make it into a sarcastic comment. "Okay Bozer your up remember your role?" Matty says. "Yea, I act like I'm alone and have no where to go. They invite me in giving Mac and Jack the distraction they need to get in and take out Leland, Roman, Sophia, and Kovac." Bozer says back through the coms. "Great Mac you and Jack need to get to the 2nd floor of the building and there should be a steel door that says you need access to via keycard. I already hacked the door and locked the four in. You guys need to be ready to fight once I open the door. Got it?" I say. "Copy that." Jack says. Our plan plays out. Bozer doesn't have to act scared because the guy who answered the door about made him faint. After explaining why he's there the guard let's him in. He manages to gets everyone's attention and Mac and Jack sneak up to the second floor. "Ok Riles we have metal poles and we're ready for you to open the door." Mac says. "Okay opening them now." I say. I unlock it and Leland immediately opens the door. We watch as Mac and Jack barely manage to knock Leland and Roman unconscious. After that Jack pins Kovac to the ground and handcuffs her. Mac does the same with Sophia but it's a little easier for her. Sophia is crying but it's not very noticeable. I can't tell if she is crying of guilt, fear or both. Suddenly I notice two guards headed to the second floor. They're coming from both directions cornering them. "Guys you gotta do something. Guards coming from both directions maybe a minute away." I say a little panicked. "Guys I have and idea. Where's Bozer?" Mac asks. "He's outside waiting for you why?" I ask. "Jack grab those emergency pillows and follow my lead." Mac says. I watch and Mac ductapes pillows to everyone including himself. "Mac you aren't gonna jump out of a 2nd story window are you?" I ask. "Riles this is our best shot of not getting shot to death. This is our only hope. Here goes nothing." He says. I watch through security cameras as he jumps out the window. His plan would have worked had he not landed awkwardly. He ended up landing on his right side. From what I can tell he gets up and his right leg isn't at it's best. Bozer immediately helps him get to his feet and we watch as Bozer and Mac try to catch the others. Once everyone's out they rush to the airport. "Mac how's your leg?" I ask more than a little concerned at the point. "I'm fine Riles." He says. "Mac you can lie to me all you want but as soon as you get back your going to the hospital." I say making sure he can tell I'm not joking through the coms. "Fine." He says knowing there's no point in arguing with me.

Once they get back we take Leland, Roman, Sophia, and Kovac in for questioning. Bozer takes Mac to the hospital and Leanna and I start the interrogation process. We start with Sophia. "So how long have you known about your father's secret organization?" Leanna asks. "Only about a year I swear. Him and I never really talked growing up. My mother left me to my godparents who were people who she was friends with in high school. They were really nice and we lived in a small town in England most of my childhood. Then COVID hit and I was quarantined in the US after visiting a friend. While I was here my dad reached out saying he wanted to talk. I called him and he asked me to get information on Russ. I told him no and then he threatened my family so I had no choice. After quarantine I met with him and gave him an envelope of information and he held me in a room for months. Eventually he allowed me to live with them but I was being watched 24/7. I swear the whole time I didn't know what their plans were. I was pretty much completely in the dark. Please believe me." She says crying a little. Leanna points to the screen we have set up that detects lies. She isn't lying. She is in pure fear. "We believe you but your gonna tell us all the information we need to shut down this operation got it?" I say making sure she knows I'm serious. She nods and they take her into a cell for temporary holding.

After interrogations we got enough information to take down the organization. "So we managed to get all the information out of them. Leland, Roman, and Kovac are all going to be locked up for life. Sophia is going to be held in the Phoenix for a bit while they finish debriefing then she will probably be let go." I report. "That's good news. Okay guys great work today. Now go relax." Matty says. We head home and I can't wait to see Mac and make sure he's okay.
