Chapter Twenty One

I haven't slept so peacefully in a long time, I took a deep breath, and a masculine fragrance hit my nostrils, wait since when my bed smells like a male perfume, I opened my eyes and saw Kartik's hand wrapped around me.

I remembered our kiss last night and blushed a little

" Stop blushing and just sleep" my inner conscious nagged me

Ya whatever.

Suddenly the door banged open, " HEY NAIRA! , YOU WANT TO......" Tyler's voice trailed off when he noticed who else was with me, his eyes were as a saucer, drama queen.

He closed the door immediately, " these people won't let me sleep" Kartik mummered from beside, he groaned and sat up to stretch a little that his fist almost hit me

" Hey watch out" I said slapping his hand away

" Sorry, I have some work, Tyler will go with me " he told me running his hands through his hair

" That means you're leaving me with David???" I said shocked

" Don't worry he won't kill you, not on my watch" he said and placed a soft kiss on my forehead and went out
..........

I was watching TV, trying to ignore David, who casually came out of his room wearing some shorts and a t-shirt, trust me I've never saw him this casual. He took out a juice can from the refrigerator and plopped down on the couch next to mine, slurping his drink.

He was intentionally slurping his drink really loud, and it was annoying me. I switched off the TV

" What's your deal?" I asked him, he looked at me as if I have a grown a second head or something

" Did I kill you? , No right, so just shut up" He replied in his bitter tone as always

" Fine then, talk when you're ready" I said in rage and was going to my room when he held my wrist and pulled me back to the couch where I was sitting

" You're not good for Kartik" he said

" And why is that" I said rubbing my hands together

" You're different, you're...not.. human" he said not looking at me

I went and stood infront of him with my hands folded near my chest

" Remember you told me the day we met, that I'm innocent" I said trying not to cry, hate my emotions, he just remained silent

" Ya I said, so what? , Never judge a book by its cover" he said shrugging his shoulders and was about to get up, but I made him sit with a wave of my hand.

" What the fu!k" he said looking at me

" You don't even know what happened to me, yet you're judging me, I don't like that David" I said bitterly, he was surprised

" It all started, when I killed my adopted mother, well she was just like my brother, always despised me, and one day she just crossed the line, and this invisible power killed her, I still feel guilty about it" my anger was melting by every passing second

" But you know the twist?, My brother saw me, I was young, I just wanted to make him happy because I killed his mother, so he blackmailed me into killing his enemies or whenever he needed me, dad was happy with achievements of my brother, so I was happy" I said with my voice trembling a little bit

" Until one day, that son of a b!tch asked me to kill our dad, I denied, but you know killing is so easy, he murdered him and made me a lab rat because I denied to help him, he tortured me everyday, for the last one year I have only seen darkness, with the metallic smell of blood and drugs invading my body" I said completely breaking down and sat on the floor, all memories rushing back.

" Hey Naira calm down" David said carefully trying not to trigger me

He sat on the floor beside me and side hugged me.

" Looks like you guys made up" Tyler's voice came

I looked up and saw Kartik and Tyler standing infront of me

" You heard?" My voice trembling, they just nodded.

Kartik picked me up and carried me to my room and lied me down

" I was going to..." He cut me off by putting a finger on my lips, which sent a different feeling in my whole body, if that's even a word

" Sleep, we'll talk later, and no I'm not angry" he said and kissed on my forehead and went out

Kartik's POV

" That's messed up" David said rubbing his eyes

" Well you pushed her" Tyler answered simply

I went and sat with them, " How was the meeting" David asked looking at Tyler and me

" They'll agree" Tyler smirked

" And how?" David asked

" Oh darling, there system just got hacked" Tyler said making a fake hurt face

" You love to do that" I chukled

Tyler was typing something on his laptop, but gradually his face turned pale

" What happened" I asked him, he didn't say anything, he just started typing violently on the laptop

" WHAT HAPPENED" I shouted, I never shout at Tyler and Lucas, like never. They're more like a family to me, even I was surprised when I shouted at him

" They knew, we're gonna do that" Tyler said softly

" What the hell?, How did they knew?" I said running my fingers through my hair due to frustration

" But Tyler this is the software you made, then how can someone block it, unless they knew the program" David said

" Unless there's a mole among us" came Naira's voice from behind
