Chapter Thirty

Here's your update!!

We were standing in front of an old orphanage building, one can see the old swings that creaks when a strong wind is blown, the rusted main gate, and a guard comfortably taking his afternoon nap.

After much talking and research, we found out that Tyler and I went to the same orphanage, which supports my theory of him being my brother, but we still don't know many things.

" Are you ready?" Kartik rubbed my back and gave me an assurance smile.
I somehow smiled back, because right now I was very nervous.

On the other side Tyler was literally glaring the building, well I don't know why.

We proceeded towards the building opening the rusted gate, the guard immediately woke up from his sleep and stared at us from his sleepy eyes.

" Who are you?" The guard asked

" We are here to see the owner, Miss Bridge" Tyler immediately said before any of us could say anything

" Hmm..ok.. please write your name here" he forwarded a register towards Tyler  wrote our names on it and then we proceeded

The building still looked the same, the smell of fresh paint floated in the air, I knocked on her office door, but there was no response, I knocked again

" Come in" someone old responded from the office

I opened the door and went inside, first she looked confused, but then as more of us started coming in, she looked irritated. She looked old and tired, I remember her being fit and healthy all the time but I guess fate has been cruel to her.

" Are you here for money or what?" She said, giving us a disgusted look

" No, we're not, we're, actually I'm here for some information" I said as politely as I can

" Ok, then spit it out" she grumbled

" I used to live in this orphanage, my name is Naira, I was adopted by the Valentino family" no sooner did the Valentino word came out from my mouth, her eyes sparkled, as if she knew something.

" And I'm Tyler, I also used to live in this orphanage" Tyler said

She chuckled, " oh, so you're both found eachother finally" she said and gave us a sweet smile

" Umm..you know us?" I asked and sat down on the opposite side of the table, Tyler did the same thing, while the rest settled on the couches.

" Ofcourse I know you both, you've grown up well" She said proudly

" Then you would've also know, that we are different" Tyler said out of the blue, the lady got scared for a moment.

" I don't know of any such thing" she said as she looked down on a piece of paper

" I know, that you know, you really have to help us here" I pleaded

" But I don't want any trouble" she said sternly

" Don't worry about it" Tyler said gently for the first time

He's going through a lot, he told us that he hears voices i.e. everyone's thoughts except mine, and it's irritating for him, he still doesn't know how to control it.

The lady took a deep breath,

" I found you guys on my doorstep as babies, so I immediately took you to my orphanage, and I also found a letter with you" Miss Bridge said as she rubbed her palms

" where's the letter" I asked

" It's not here, I burned it" she said

" But why????" Tyler asked

" That's what I'm going to tell, listen carefully, it was written that you both are different, you're human but with some special abilities like a god's gift to you, which can help many people, but many people will also consider you as dangerous, so you both should be protected until you can protect yourselves" Miss Bridge took a breath and continued

" It said that your abilities will not be activated until you're in a miserable state or hurt or you're going to be hurt, until then it would be hidden" Miss Bridge said

" That's why mine ability came to me when my stepmother was literally abusing me verbally everyday, and then one day I just couldn't take it anymore and I killed her with it" I said whatever came to my mind

" And Tyler's came when he was in coma due to the injury which could've killed him" Lucas said from behind while we nodded

" It was also mentioned, that you both can't use your abilities on each other" Miss Bridge said

" Wait you said abilities??" This time Megan said from behind

" That can be true, because I can destroy things and people or move them as I want, but I can also heal people with my blood" I said trying to remember if I did anything else

" But I only have one ability that is reading minds" Tyler complained

" And that's a very difficult ability to master Tyler" Miss Bridge smiled at him

" I understand why my blood couldn't heal Tyler's wounds because we're siblings but what about Kartik?, Why I couldn't heal him with my blood" I asked

David started laughing, " Don't tell me, that Kartik is long lost Naira's brother"

We glared at him including Miss Bridge.

" Ya I forgot to mention one thing, that when you kill someone with your ability, you can't heal that blood, you know like his generation or bloodline, it's like your ability or blood is against that person now, and in the end of the letter it was written to burn it, because it contained way too much information to be revealed to anyone" Miss Bridge completed telling about the letter.

We all thanked her and then went to our cars, the drive to the house was silent, it was silence before the storm.
