CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Silence accompanied us while looking outside the balcony. My mouth was clumped together as if words will about to slip if I let it part even in the slightest. I pushed my phone inside my pocket and one strike of lightning followed by the clap of thunder shook the entire room. The solid sheet of raindrops that whipped across the glass door that separates the door from the balcony was clouding the frame. The darkness that turned the vicinity into a total blindness made me see my reflection on the glass in front of us. Kei was silent; his eyes were all on me. He was looking at our reflection. The lump on my throat grows larger even I had tried many times to swallow. My feet were rooted on the ground where I was standing; lost for words about my situation right now.

I was freaking stranded in the house of my enemy. The thought itself boggled my mind. Many questions rampaged my mind and I couldn't think straight. A soft sigh slips out of my lips and when my lips parted my words literally barged out of my lips.

"O-okay lang ba na rito ako matulog? You know, if there is a hotel nearby, you can just drive me there—"

"It's my pleasure to give you refuge, Aisha. Besides, the house is located in the outskirt of the city so it's impossible to have a hotel nearby." Kei murmured. He turned to me but my neck turned rigid as I chided myself not to look at him.

"Saan naman ako matutulog?" I mumbled. It was a silly question since this mansion offers an enormous number of rooms.

"You can sleep here in my room," he retorted. His voice was shadowed with unfathomable softness.

I shook my head. This time, my eyes were now all on him, "I can't sleep here. Saan ka naman matutulog kung gano'n?"

He smirked, "Sa kabilang k'warto ako matutulog." He dipped his head, "Don't overthink, babe. I'd be happier knowing you're sleeping on my bed." He leaned closer, making me gulp, "... and we had an interrupted session..."

My cheeks burned as I tried to recede but the hand of Kei instantly wrapped around my waist. My palms pressed on his broad chest but I did not put pressure into it. It was like they were there to rest and not to elude from something to happen. Kei's eyes sparkled and the side of his lips curled up. My lips slightly parted to let the hair slip out of my lips because I can scarcely breathe. My heart was mauling my ribcage and I was totally dumbfounded as to why I was acting so weirdly right now. Push him away, I chided myself but my body seemed serving another master. I couldn't put pressure on my palms. Electricity zinged through my entire body, waking every sleepy cell in me.

Lightning zipped through the blanket of darkness outside. Chills chased down through my skin as I saw the yellow light flickered through Kei's side profile. Despite the ranging cry of the sky, the face of Kei lights up. He was so handsome... attractive as hell... and ridiculously enticing. I chewed the back of my cheek as I looked down at my hand pressed onto his chest. My breathing turned ragged. I drew a breath to steady myself by my heartbeats skyrocketed. What the fuck was happening to me?

"I... I have something to read." I halfheartedly shoved his chest away from me.

He groaned when I pivoted on my heels. However, before I could walk away from him, his hand wrapped around my wrist, and with a soft pull, I sprang back to him. Sa sobrang lapit namin, ramdam na ramdam ko ang kaniyang hininga sa aking noo. I wanted to stay looking at his chest to avoid eye-contact with him but he tipped my chin up, making me look at his hypnotic eyes. I shivered when I saw how the corner of his lips curls up into a sexy grin.

"You're so beautiful, Aisha..." He murmured, his minty breath shamelessly brushed against my face.

He smells so good I could snuggle my face on the crook of his neck and stay there for the rest of my life. Oh shit, what was I thinking? This wasn't good— I know but my mind was all riled up. I was so frustrated on how to get back to what I was before— the one that hates Kei de Chavez to the core.
