Harper POV
Steve sat next to me looking at me with his blue eyes, full of worry,
"Harper please talk to me, you can't keep everything bottled up," Steve said
I sighed and nodded
"My brother just has a temper," I mumbled
"No Bucky has a temper, that was something more," Steve said
he grabbed my hand cupping it in his hands,
"This," He said touching my bruise
"This was rage and uncalled for," Steve said
"Brother or not no man should put their hands on a woman, not like this," He said
I looked into his eyes, they were full of worry and sadness,
"Harper I know you are shy, and guarded, but please let me in, I want to understand," He said still cupping my hand,
His eyes were pleading
I nodded
"Evan has always been like that, but he was in school for CSI but he dropped out, and he wanted me to pay his loans, when I said no he got a little upset that's all," I said
"A little Harper, that wasn't a little," He said
"I know, I know," I mumbled
"I guess I've been supporting him too much as Tony keeps telling me," I said
"So he's been taking money?" Steve said
I nodded,
"Along with my parents, that's why I'm here, I came here to ask for Tony's advice, and he suggested I stay here," I said
"And work for him," I mumbled
He nodded understanding,
"Why don't we get your mind off of all of this," Steve suggested
I looked at him,
"How?" I asked
"Well there is this really nice place downtown, how about we go out tonight," Steve said
I arched my brow,
"Come on what do you have to lose?" He said
I smiled sadly at him,
"Alright," I said smiling at him sadly
"Great, who knows maybe we can swing by the carnival you might even enjoy yourself," He said smiling at me,
"Please don't make me regret this," I said smiling sadly,
"Never will," He said standing up,
"Why don't we make you some tea you need sleep, not coffee," He said pulling me up from my seat gently
"I'm fine," I said
"Your exhausted," He said rubbing the circle under my eye with his thumb,
"Come on I'll make you some chamomile tea," He said putting his large hand in between my shoulder blades
I nodded and we walked out of the lab,
