Ch. 21 "Care"

Harper POV

It has been a few days, my cold is still lingering, It was early in the morning, I couldn't sleep due to the cold,

I slowly got out of bed,

I got dressed, walking to the bathroom, I brushed my hair and teeth, and walked out, my heels clicking on the floor,

I left the tower to get some medicine, It was a little chilly out,

I got the medicine from the nearby pharmacy, along with some snacks,

As I walked out of the store I got this weird feeling I was being followed, so I picked up my pace, I looked over my shoulder as I walked faster,

As I entered the building I ran right into something solid causing me to yelp and stumble,

"Hey, hey, easy it's me," Steve said

I see steve covered in sweat, he must have went for a run,

"Is everything alright?" He said looking at me concerned,

I was still pressed against him, I felt myself turn red,

"I... I uh yeah," I said backing up a little,

"You sure you look a little spooked," He said

"I.. Uh I think I'm just being paranoid," I said

"Why you say that?' He asked

"I just was getting the feeling.." I said

"Feeling?" He said

"Of being followed, I think I'm just being paranoid," I said

He arched his brow,

"What were you doing out so early anyway?" He said

"Should you even be out of bed?" He asked

Bless his heart I thought,

"I uh, just went out to get some medicine that's all," I said looking up at him since he's so big and tall and...

Wait what, stop that! I thought

His blue icy blue eyes looking at me concerned,

"Why didn't you tell me? I would have gotten it for you," He said smiling at me,

"I didn't want to bother you, besides I could use the fresh air," I said smiling at him,

His hand cupped my cheek,

"You could never bother me," He said kissing my forehead,

He pulled back, placing his hand on my forehead,

"You still feel feverish," He said

"I'm fine Steve," I said looking into his eyes,

He didn't look convinced,

"I promise," I said kissing his cheek,

Thank you for whoever created heels, I thought

If I didn't have them I wouldn't have reached that, I thought

Steve smiled as he was still cupping my cheek,

"Hey romeo hands off," Tony's voice echoed,

Tony walked over to us,

"Hey Harp how you feeling?" He asked

Before I could answer,

"She says she's fine, but she still has a fever," Steve said crossing his arms,

"Yeah, that's her for you, go get some rest," Tony said

I hesitated, what the hell is going on? I thought

"Please," Steve said

I sighed,

"If it makes you two feel better," I mumbled

They both chuckled,

I walked off, but I had no intent on going to bed, I snuck back into the lab, Bruce looked up from what he was doing,

"Are you approved to come back?" He asked

"I'm fine Bruce," I said smiling at him,

Tony POV

We watched Harper walk off, I looked at Cap,

"I think we need to have a chat," I said

He arched his brow,
