Ch.12 "Admission"

                                                   Harper POV 

It was morning Me and Steve continued laying in my bed, My eyes were still closed I just wanted to forget, but I know I can't I know I'm gonna have to come clean about who did this, 

"I know you awake," Steve said his breath against the top of my head, 

I nodded, 

My eyes blinking slowly, 

"I'm not trying to push you, but are you ready to talk about it?" He asked 

"Not really," I whispered 

"But I'm going to have to talk about it eventually," I mumbled 

I felt him shift but he had a gentle hold on me, and we continued to lay there, 

I let out a sigh, 

"It uh... it was my father," I mumbled 

"What?" Steve said 

He sat up making me sit up with him, 

"He uh, he asked me for my card, and when I denied him that he wasn't happy," I said I couldn't meet Steve's eyes, 

"He, uh tired to.." I said touching my neck 

"He tried to kill you?" He asked through gritted teeth, 

"I'm not sure if that's what he was intending, but he did do this to me," I said sadly 

"Harper look at me," He said 

I slowly looked up at him, 

"This isn't going to happen again, I promise you that," Steve said he sounded angry, 

"How can you promise something like that?" I asked 

Steve brought his large hand to my cheek, his thumb stroking under my eye where one of the cut I have is, 

"Because I'm going to make sure of it," He said 

"I know your family hasn't treated you well, but this was crossing the line," He said 

I put my hand on top of his hand that is on my cheek, 

"Steve why do you care so much?" I asked 

"Because I see someone who's family doesn't appreciate her as she should be, to be cherished, respected, and happy, And I want to show that to you Harper more than anything," He said 

"You deserve everything, not being used and taken advantage of live they've been doing," He said 

He pressed his forehead against mine, for the first time I see how blue Steve's eyes really are, for the first time in my life I see someone looking at me like I'm everything, like I'm the only person they see, with such adoration, 

It was a strange feeling, 

"You don't deserve to be treated the way they've been treating you Harper," He said 

"I know, but they are my family what am I supposed to do?" I asked 

"Stop giving them so many chances, if they really care about you they wouldn't be doing any of this," Steve said 

"I know I just have to much hope," i said 

"I know, I know you want to see that they are going to change, but not people like them, not people who take advantage of their daughter, people like that don't change," He said 

I nodded 

"And I just can't stand seeing you in such pain from the people who shouldn't cause it," He said cupping my face, 

"I want to take that all away," He said 

"How?" I asked 

And before I realized what was happening Steve's lips were on mine, not a rough kiss but it was gentle and full of passion, my head was spinning, this is the first time I've ever kissed anyone, I was always too busy with school or work, 

But I didn't pull away, no I melted into it, closing my eyes as my arms wrapped around his neck, this is something I was unfamiliar with, but I didn't want the feel to stop,
