Ch. 7 "Brother"

                                                      Harper POV 

I was at my desk in the lab with Bruce, I rubbed my eyes, 

"You alright?" He asked 

I nodded, 

"Yeah, just really tired," I said 

"Yeah, I was going to ask but I didn't want to push you," He said 

"Bruce you can ask me whatever you want, were close enough," I said smiling at him sadly 

He smiled back

I started typing on the computer, my phone kept dinging, but I ignored it, 

"Miss Hartley there is a visitor waiting for you in the lobby," FRIDAY said 

I froze, 

"Who is it?" I asked 

"Mr. Evan Hartley," Friday said 

I sighed, it was my older brother, great, I thought 

"Would you like me to send him away?" FRIDAY said 

"No, I'll handle it," I said standing up, 

"Are you sure, You told me how his temper is," Bruce said 

I nodded, 

"I have to face him sooner or later," I said 

Bruce looked worried, 

"Don't worry I won't be long," I said 

I walked out of the lab taking the Elevator, I walked into the Lobby, Evan spotted me, 

"There you are!" He sneered, 

"Evan," I said blankly I crossed my arms, 

"Mom and Dad told me you refused to pay my student loans! and now you cutting them off!" He said 

"Yes, I'm sick of supporting all of you," I said in a dull tone, 

He chuckled, 

"Give me your card Harper," He said holding out his hand, 

"No," I said blankly 

He grabbed my wrist and started to squeeze 

You see my brother is much larger than me, I'm small weighing in at only 113 pound, while my brother was 230 but that's all muscle, 

"I said give it!" He said squeezing harder, 

I see Happy on the phone not looking happy at all, 

"You need to learn to pay your own debt, I'm done with you and our parents using me for my money," I said 

"What did you just say!?" He said squeezing so hard it made me yelp, 

"Hey! you might want to let her go," Tony said from behind me 

"Who the hell are you?" My brother sneered 

"The owner of this tower, so I suggest you let her go before I make you," Tony said glaring at him, 

The attention that was on us I didn't like it, 

"I believe he told you to let the lady go," I heard Steve's voice 

Great I thought My brother looked at Steve with wide eyes and finally let go,

"Will someone escort him out and not let him back on the premises," Tony said 

Two big guards grabbed my brother, 

My brother glared at me, 

"This isn't over," He said 

"Oh boy I believe it is," Tony said 

"Come on Harp," Tony said 

The three of us were in the elevator, 

"Who was that?" Steve said 

"My brother Evan," I said 

"That was Evan?" Tony asked surprised 

I nodded, 

I held my wrist close to my chest, 

The elevator dinged, we were in the main room, 

"Let me see," Tony said 

"It's fine, I'm just going to go," I said too shaken up about what happened, 

"Harper you need that looked at," Steve said 

I shook my head, 

"It's fine just sore," I said as I walked away, 

I was so embarrassed, people seeing my brother cause a scene, Tony having to save me, Steve witnessing it, 

                                         Steve POV 

I watched as Harper scurried off,

Tony sighed, I looked at him, 

"That is why she holds such sadness," Tony said walking off, 

What because of her brother or something much more worse? I thought

I didn't come out of the room I was staying in all day after that, it was past 2Am when I finally decided to go get some coffee and give up on sleeping, 

I walked into the lab, I was at my desk, my chin in my palm as I stared at the wall, 

If he knows where I'm at that means my parents do as well, I looked down at my wrist, I see the finger impressions, 

I hear a knock, I look up and see Steve he was covered in sweat, he was in a muscle shirt and sweats, 

"Hey," He said 

"Hey," I said in a blank tone, 

"Can we talk?" He asked
