Harper POV
I didn't sleep very much last night, After getting a quick shower I got dressed, and walked out the room,
I was walking down the hallway, my mind scattered once I see Tony, I walked towards him,
"Harper just in time," Tony said digging in his pocket
He handed me a badge,
I arched my brow, it had my name on it and a number on it,
I looked at him,
"Had to take pro-cautions since well you know," He said
I nodded,
We started walking,
"So I was thinking, while Pepper isn't around you could help me out," Tony said
"Tony I've never been good with assisting," I said
"Don't think of it like that, just think of it as helping out a friend, then you can go help Bruce," He said
"So you want me juggle between you and Bruce?" I said looking at him,
"Yeah, besides it will keep your mind off of well you know," Tony said
"Yeah.." I said sighing,
He stopped knowing the tone in my voice
"Don't do that," He said looking at me
"Do what?" I asked
"You can analyze all you want, but you can't change people, and people don't change, I know you want to see that, but it's just unavoidable," Tony said
"I know," I said
"They why do you keep thinking that they are going to change?" He asked
"Because they were not always like this.." I said trailing off,
We were now outside of the lab, my arms were crossed as I had my back against the cold wall,
"what do you mean?" He asked
"At one point they were nice to me, they loved me, never said I was a disappointment everything was normal," I said
"Then what happened?" He asked confused by this fact,
"They learned I was smarter than most kids, very advanced, then everything changed, telling me I wasn't good enough, which made me try even harder," I said
"Harper there is nothing wrong with being smarter than most people," Tony said placing his hand on my shoulder,
"I know, I just would like to understand what changed after that," i said
