Author's Note.
Hope you like the chapter. Please comment and vote, I'd love to know what you all think. Comment down what you think of the story and my writing. Could it use improvement? This is my first ever fanfiction so I want to to know. This chapter is a bit smaller due to the next ones coming up taking place in the Sea of Monsters. Thank you.

We were by Virginia Beach when I heard a deathly sound. A screech more than a roar, a loud bellow more than a holler. I know the screech, it took me ten hours to find a way to kill the monster that made the sound and Heracles got all the credit for stealing my idea to kill it. It was the hydra.
It was ten times the size of a rhino and had five long necks with five heads. The heads looked like those of a lizard crossed with a piranha. It had fins on the side of each head. Venom coated each tooth and dripped to the ground. Once the venom touched the ground it hissed like acid and burnt the ground. It had scales but its hide was slimy like the cross of a mucus-filled frog and a snake. I noticed Tyson and Annabeth fighting it.
"What the heck are they doing there?" I asked.
"Are they stupid?" Clarisse questioned.
I peered at the three fighting and noticed that Silena was there as well. I took out the Olethros coin and Riptide. I flipped the coin turning it into a spear. I tightened my grip on the spear and lighting was shot right on to me from the skies above as if Zeus finally thought it was time to kill me with the master bolt. When it disappeared so did I. A new bolt of lightning shot down in front of the hydra before it could bite Silena in half.
"Dad," she muttered.
"Not now," I returned in rage.
I turned to the hydra and fear enveloped it. It looked at Olethros and took several steps back. I looked into her eyes and knew we had a history. We had fought for generation Scyleria, the first hydra. Many myths said the opposite, but we both knew otherwise. She was my foe for many wars, she was my counterpart in all wars. She sought out my daughter knowing very well my blood was thick in her veins. I saw all her heads smile and she spoke for the first time in three generations.
"It has been a long Olethros," she said with a smile. All her heads were talking in unison and her voice sounded like a small little girl. It unnerved even the greatest of heroes. "We always play hide and seek, Olethros. You always hide and I always find you." She knew full well who I was and loved keeping my secret. She relished on the fact she can tell the world at any time.
"She can speak?" Silena asked.
"That's not possible. Hyrda's don't speak!" Annabeth added.
"She is the mother of all hydra. Of course, she can speak," I muttered.
"Olethros and I have fought for eons. The blood of Olethros is in your veins and wielders of the blade are protective of those born from previous users. I knew Olethros would return to me."
"You dare?" I spoke in a cold voice. "You dare try to kill a daughter of Olethros and Aphrodite?" Storm clouds swirled as the winds picked up and the thunders boomed. I was going to kill her before but now I was going to kill her even more, if that's possible.
"Wait, what?" Annabeth asked, looking at the two of us. "No wonder you are so close."
"Your blood will be spilled on this godforsaken ground. Your head will adorn my spear," I uttered in cold apathy.
"It is by my teeth that your head will be severe from your shoulders, old friend," she hissed.
"Why does she know you?" Annabeth asked.
