Percy POV

After ditching the cars and the wolf we drove to Washington DC. We drove to the National Air and Space Museum since Grover's acorns told us that was where our next stop. Something felt off when we started walking in.

I stopped before getting in because I was hearing a voice in my head. I turned thinking that I must have heard someone say something behind me. I saw a giant dark bird flying in the sky, thunder roaring and lightning flashing behind it. I blinked and noticed it was gone. I thought it was just in my head or probably a bad omen of what was going to come.

"Dad, you okay?" Silena whispered, grabbing my shoulders. I turned to her and was concerned.

"I am a Spartan, not even death scares me. I'll be fine. The question is, are you calm? Did you get all the cursing out of your system?"

"That woman thinks she could make out with my dad and not get slapped by a well-manicured hand? She is definitely crazy. When I get my hands on her I-" she was going to say before I began patting her on the head.

"Spartan wrath is in your blood. Someone said, the angrier the Spartan woman the more beautiful, strong, and dangerous she would be because only Spartan women could have strong sons and beautiful daughters."

"For someone who refers to Sparta all the time you never tell me how life was like there. You usually say it when you want to teach me a lesson. You never have any fun facts," Silena said with a smile.

"Oh, a fun fact? What type of fun fact do you want to know?"

"Something about love. How about a fact about what marriage was like? I might want to use something from them during my future wedding."

"You definitely don't want to do that."

"Why? I'm a Spartan princess, aren't I?" Silena asked.

"Because when a woman got married, they would have a glorious wedding," I said.

"Great! What's so bad about that?"

"Then that night she's thrown in jail and her head is shaved just before her husband kidnaps from the jail so they could consummate the marriage," I smirked when she looked scared.

"You're kidding! I'm not going to pull a Britteny Spears!" Silena screamed.

"But I used to do another thing when dealing with your mom," I said. "Whenever I told her I would marry her one day."

"What did you do?", Silena asked.

"You know the whole Trojan War, right? Do you know why it started?"

"Some guy had to choose who was more beautiful. Mom, Athena, or Hera. The winner got a golden apple."

"Yes, a golden apple, known to make anyone immortal. If you want to be technical the guy should have given it to Hera since the apple came from the tree that Zeus made for Hera for a wedding present. Basically, he was just giving back what belonged to her. I told this to your mom once and she threw a temper tantrum so bad that no one fell in love or gave into lust for a week."

"Why does that matter?"

"Because whenever I find an apple, I go to Aphrodite and give it to her. To me she deserves the apple, she is the most beautiful, she is the number one goddess, she is my queen of hearts. She will always be my choice and one day when I propose for real, when we finally could be together, I'll give her the golden apple. Not because she tempted me like she did the last time with the other guy that started the Trojan War, but because she is the one I want and the one I will marry. I actually told a few demigods that tried to ask a child of Aphrodite the best way to propose to one was by giving them an apple. Sadly, one time when a child of Aphrodite was proposed with an apple he declined and walked away picking an actress instead. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Poor Jessica, I really thought she was a good match for Alexander, I guess it didn't help that Alex was allergic to apples."
