December 31st - almost a year later

Maya:

"Buck, c'mon, we gotta go. We're gonna be late again," I say, shaking Bucky awake in our bed.

"Mmmm, a few more minutes," Bucky said lazily. He rolled over and grabbed me, pulling me to his chest.

"Bucky!" I say, laughing. "We're gonna miss the quinjet. We have a mission!"

"So let's miss it." I look at him with a knowing glare. Bucky pulls me on top of him so that I'm straddling him, and he sits up, grabbing my waist and pulling me closer, kissing me. I couldn't help but be reminded that our day had started like this every day for the last year and that I wouldn't give it up for anything. I slowly make my way off of Bucky and onto the floor, bringing him to stand up with me while I still kissed him.

"C'mon, we have to get dressed," I say, reluctantly pulling away from him and grabbing my suit from our walk-in closet. When I came out, Bucky was still in the same place, starting at the floor. I set my suit on the bed, "Hey," I say, standing under him as he directs his gaze from the floor to me. "What's up?"

"Do you ever think that we could have a normal life?"

"...I think about it all the time," I say. "But nothing about us is normal."

" I know. But if people ever stopped trying to end the world as we know it, what would we do?"

I already had an answer to that. "Well, I think we could either stay here... or we could move to Brooklyn and start a life," I shrugged. Bucky's eyes lit up at the sound of his home. "But in the meantime, I think we should stay here and help the team."

"No, I totally agree. But would you really wanna move to Brooklyn?"

"Of course I do. I'd move anywhere in the world if you were with me. And I've always wanted to live in the city." Bucky didn't say anything. He remained still, just looking at me. "Bucky?"

He quickly pulled me in and kissed me passionately, and of course, I kissed back. We ended up back on the bed until I felt my suit resting beside us. I pulled away. "Bucky, we have to get to the jet," I said, chuckling. I got off of him and started changing, as did he.

We came out to the kitchen where we could see Tony, Sam and Steve loading the quinjet full of our gear and other supplies that we'd need. The mission was supposed to be three days, but it always took longer than Tony estimated. This time, it was just a simple reconnaissance mission, but I know we were all going to find a way to fuck it up. "Meet you at the jet?" Bucky asked me, going to help the guys load the jet.

"Coffee?" I ask him before the elevator door closes.

"Sure. Thanks," he says with a big smile.

When I arrived at the jet, Bucky was seated. He patted a spot beside him for me to come sit on. Instead, set his and my coffee down and sat on his lap. "So, hypothetically, if we moved to Brooklyn, what would we do?" I asked quietly.

"I think Tony would give you a job, and I could find something to do," Bucky said, wrapping his arm around my waist. Even after a year, my cheeks still heated up every time he did that. I wrapped my arm around his neck in response. It was easy to tell that he and I both enjoyed talking about our hypothetical future. "We could get a dog," Bucky shrugged.

"It's gotta be a big dog. Like a German Sheppard or a Doberman or something like that. Plus, they'd look so cute beside a kid..."

Fuck.

The look in Bucky's eyes changed when I mentioned the kid thing. I never had time to think about it before, but I wanted kids. Even though I may not be the best person in the world to raise one, I think I could do a decent job.

"...You want a kid?" Bucky asked with the look that I couldn't quite read still in his eyes.

"Yeah. I guess I do," I chuckled. "Do you?"

A few seconds went by before he squeezed his arms tighter around my waist, and he smiled. "...I want two. Or three."

"Well, in that case, we'd have a girl and a boy," I said, trying not to let the huge smile take over my face. "And we could name the girl after you sister," I proposed, reccaling a conversation Bucky and I had about his family.

"We could name the boy after your dad?" Bucky then asked.

"Becca and Scott?"

"And the large German dog."

"We'd be terrible parents," I joked. We both broke out into laughter. "They'd be punching people out by the time they're three."

"No," Bucky said seriously. I lowered my eyebrows in question. "Definetly earlier than that," he said. Another fit of laughter broke loose from us while everone on the quinjet started at us as we joked quietly.

"Ok everyone, I know working on New Year's Eve isn't ideal, but it's our only option. We're keeping it simple today. We arrive in Europe this afternoon for a recon mission. When we get there, we'll be about five miles from the base and cloking on the quinjet will be on. So once we're out, we can't get back in until the evening," Tony said sternly.

"We'll work mainly in groups of three. Sam and Tony will take the air, while Bruce stay on comms. Wanda, Vision, Clint and Nat will scope out the base a shorter range due east. And Maya, Bucky and I will do the same due west," Steve said, taking over to let everyone know the game plan.

"All we wanna do in map out the base and monitor gaurd chages so when can come back and infiltrate when we have enough information," Tony then said.

Silence filled the jet before we took off, everyone mentally preparing for what was about to come. Sometimes, reconnaissance missions were hard on people. Having to spend all your time with the same exact people for over seventy-two hours was sometimes frustrating, but with Bucky and Steve, we could get a lot done while still having fun - which is why Steve always put us together.

"Y'know, after this, will be one step closer to Brooklyn," Bucky whispered in my ear from behind me. Shivers ran down my spine once more, with a new hapiness coming to light. Bucky and I could have a shot at a normal life, and I know that he and I will do anything to help make it a reality.

A/N:

Hey everyone,

If you've gotten this far, then thank you so much for taking the time to read this fanfic. The epilogue is unfortunately, the last chapter I'll be writing for You Get Me. BUT, I've just released the first two chapters of a new Bucky fanfic called Atlas.

Just some background information on Atlas. It's an Avatar!OC x Bucky fanfic, and so far, I'm pretty happy with what I've written. I'll probably be updating every week or every few days. But If you're looking for more Bucky content, then hopefully, you'll take a look at Atlas.

Thank you all so much for the super nice comments and your votes. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: I didn't think (nor did I ever dream) this fanfic would get the attention it's recently been getting. Like HOLY! Over 20k views?! Y'all are too much! In comparison to other books, I know it's not a lot, but it still means a ton.

Thank you again!

Love u all, Sam :)
