Maya:

Nat, Wanda and I walked into the gold decorated room for the second time. This time, I picked out a satin burgundy gown with a v-neck and spaghetti straps.

I thought I looked good

I thought I looked good. And the looks I was getting from creepy old men told me I looked good too. We nudged past the crowd towards the couches that were basically designated for the team. "You guys go, I'm gonna get a drink," I say to Wanda and Nat. Both the girls give me a weird look, knowing that I can't get drunk, but leave me be anyway. I walked over to the bar, which was only a few yards away, and ordered four shots of vodka. The bartender gives me a questioning look before he pours me my drinks. I grab two glasses in each hand and head over to the couch. I take a seat beside Natasha and set my drinks down.

"You know you can't get drunk, right?" Natasha asks.

"Don't remind me," I say sarcastically. I was missing the Asgardian drink that Thor had brought from his home. I look around and only find that myself, Wanda, Natasha, Tony, Sam and Vision are around the couches. Tony and Bruce were talking to other guests, probably scientists or doctors of some sort. "Where's Steve and Bucky?" I ask.

"They're on their way. I think," Wanda says as I take a shot.

Conversations between the Avengers occur as I sit here in silence, waiting for something to go wrong. I eventually down all four shots, and soon after, I go get four more shots from the bar. I didn't even feel the buzz from the alcohol, the only feeling I got from it was the burn as the vodka ran down my throat.

I'm just about to take my fifth shot of the night as I see Steve and Bucky making their way through the crowd towards the couches. When they do arrive, the first thing I looked for was Bucky's hands to see if they were covered in fabric. I was (sort of) shocked to see that Bucky had no gloves on, and his metal hand was on display for everyone to see. I smirk a little to myself, shoot Bucky an innocent glare and look down at his metal hand. Bucky then raises an eyebrow and gives me an annoyed look before I stand up to talk to him.

"You look nice," I say, smiling. I tried to hide a laugh as Bucky gives me a glare when he raises his left hand. "Even better without the gloves," I add. Bucky only continues to glare at me. "Hey! Now I owe you a dance. You should be happy," I lightly nudge him as I say this, and the corners of his mouth twitch a little.

"Fine. Then may I have this dance?" Bucky offers his left hand for me to take. Before I do, I nod and down the remaining drinks that I had left on the table. "Woah, easy there."

"Shut up. The only reason I'm gonna trip on the dance floor is because I can't dance," I say. I then take Bucky's hand, and he leads me to the middle of the room. The smooth wooden slabs are filled with couples of all ages, Bucky and I were just another couple to add to the crowd. When we got to the floor, Bucky spun me around and grabbed my waist. I smiled at him as I rested my left hand on his shoulder.
