Bucky:
I can't believe I left her behind. I didn't want to, but I knew she'd be fine. She's practically indestructible and annoyingly stubborn. I knew I'd only stop her from finishing her job unless I left. I got outside, and I could see the team standing and waiting for us, but they couldn't see me. For all the team knew, I was still in there with Maya. The quinjet used it's autopilot feature to fly here on its own for extraction. The team got in and all sat down, waiting expectantly for us.
"Barnes, Alton, you have one minute left. We're sending Vision in to find you," I heard Steve say.
"Don't! I'm almost done... and Bucky's safe. I can get out fine on my own," she said through the comm. The seconds went by, but it felt like time was moving way too slow and way too fast simultaneously.
Forty seconds. I could imagine Maya's fingers frantically typing on the keys as she watched the clock go by.
Thirty seconds. I could imagine the smirk that would end up on Maya's face as soon as she finished. All she had to do was press enter before every HYDRA server was infected by the virus she had created.
Twenty seconds. It wasn't like the team could do anything at this point. Not a lot could get done in fifteen - fourteen - thirteen seconds.
Now ten seconds. "Done! I'm done! I'm heading out!" I heard Maya's frantic and panicked tone through the comm. The tone in her voice told me she didn't even know if she would have enough time to finish.
Those ten seconds went by quickly. The building started to crumble piece by piece. I could imagine Maya being trapped in there, having no clue how to get out. But just as that thought raced through my head, I saw a figure in the sky on a... surfboard? It was all black, but I swear I saw a purple flame hot on the surfer's trail. The figure came closer to us - it was Maya. I had no idea she could do that. She was surfing on an object of her own creation twenty feet up in the air. All this woman did was continue to amaze me. The HYDRA base collapsed on itself as Maya came up right in front of the team. Her black surfboard hovered over the ground until she stepped off it, and it disappeared into thin air.
"Where the hell is Bucky?" was all Steve said, looking a little worried. Maya then phased, saw me, and ran to hug me. I hugged her back as tightly as I could without crushing her. We parted before she phased us into the real world.
"He's right here."

"You scared the shit out of me today. You know that, right?" I say quietly in the dark. We were on our way back to the facility, everyone was asleep once again on the quinjet, except for Maya and me. We were lying down right beside one another, holding hands on the cool metal floors.
"I can take care of myself, you know," she whispered.
"Yeah, but you don't have to now. You have a whole team that would put their lives at risk for you."
"...Would you?"
"Would I what?"
"Would you put your life at risk? For me, I mean," she clarified. Was that really a question coming out of her mouth right now?
"You have no idea how much I wanted to trade places with you when I thought you'd go out with that bomb," I say.
"...I'm sorry."
"For what? You have nothing to be sorry for. You did your part fantastically," I say. I pulled her into me, and she gave in. Her head was resting on my chest, and her arm was wrapped around my torso. I wish we wouldn't have to get up in the morning. I kissed the top of her head before I felt my eyelids getting heavy. "Go to sleep doll, I'll wake you up when we're there." My eyes then closed immediately after, and sleep overtook me.
