Maya:
The room was actually a decent size. Tony had given the Winter Soldier and me phones, laptops, and a monitor which sat on the desk by the bed. I would have to hack and disable all three devices later. It's great that Tony had given us all of this stuff, but I figured he'd be taking a few precautions with us. Who wouldn't? But the downside of the room? Only one bed and a couch. To be honest, I wanted the couch to sleep on, I was so used to the terrible hotel beds that my back had practically become immune to the stiffening feeling you'd usually wake up with in the morning from the shitty mattress. Switching back to a good quality mattress would be an interesting change compared to my current - now old - lifestyle.
"I can take the couch." Bucky and I both said at the same time. Which threw Bucky off. That's when I took the opportunity to claim the couch.
"I can take the couch. Really, I'd prefer it over the bed." I tried once more.
"So would I... I'm Bucky by the way." The Winter Soldier said with a small smirk, holding out his hand to shake.
"Well, I guess we have ourselves a little problem. I'm Maya." I said while smirking, taking his hand with a firm grip. My competitive nature started to take over, if we both wanted the couch, I was gonna get it no matter what it took. I started to think, how would two assassins settle a disagreement? Simple. "I have an idea..." I said with a shit-eating grin on my face. I admit I was starting to get very cocky, but this was going to be fun.
"And what might that be?" Bucky said with a monotone voice. His lips started to slowly turn into a smirk. He and I both knew that we had the same idea about how we were going to settle this.
"I'll spar you for the couch," I said, shrugging, trying to act like I didn't have my set on this. The assassin inside me was getting excited, it's been two and a half years since I had a good opponent to spar against. That's the thing, I've always enjoyed the training and the fighting and practicing with my powers, but the assassinations have always been, and always will be, my deepest regret.
"Deal. I'll meet you at the training facilities in fifteen," He said while holding out his hand. I shook Bucky's hand while trying to hide the excitement on my face.
I readjusted the duffel bag resting on my shoulder, walked over to the couch and set the bag down. Inside the bag were a few tops from Lululemon, a sweatshirt, some jeans, leggings, sweatpants, shorts, and a pair of running shoes. Most of the clothing was athletic wear, which was perfect. The shoes were great, and they would be a nice change from the boots I had been wearing for the past three years. Bucky had already gone into the bathroom to change so I changed out in the bedroom. I put on a baby blue tank top and Nike running shorts that I had been provided with. I put on the new shoes, which fit perfectly, and headed out the door.
The training facilities were amazing, better than anywhere I've trained in the past. On the left was a very nice wrestling ring (where I assumed Bucky and I would be sparring), behind the ring were a bunch of targets, which I assumed were used for target practice, on the right was a row of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and rowing machines. In the short distance was a lot of weight training equipment, which probably took up at least half the gym space, and in the back left corner from the entrance was the biggest yoga studio you could imagine, complete with ballet bars, a shelf full of yoga equipment, and a wall full of mirrors, which I figured I would be using a lot. I grabbed a new bottle of water from the fridge that was right beside the entrance and headed into the yoga studio to warm up.
It was when I was stretching while trying to tie up my long brown hair was where I was interrupted... "So, you going to just keep sitting there or am I kicking your ass and getting that sofa?" Bucky questioned while leaning against the door frame. He was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and some training shorts. With his shirt, I could see his metal arm, with part of the classic red star peeking out. I was nervous to fight the Winter Soldier, but I was the world's best assassin for a reason, right? I have trained my whole life for this, and I was technically half a super-soldier. So the odds were pretty good.
"I think I'll go with a second option. But I think the ass-kicking part will be the other way around. I'm getting that couch," I say while standing up and taking a sip of my ice-cold water. I walk out of the yoga room, making sure to nudge the Winter Soldier a little bit on my way out. This was going to be fun.
