Fourteen ~ We Really Can't Kill Each Other

October 31st

Maya:

It was my first time in the lab with Tony, he was having me work on some programming for this robot he was building. I had been working on the code for a few hours until my concentration was broken by a loud ring on Tony's phone.

"Hello?... Oh Mr. Ross, so glad to hear from you!" He says. From the tone in Tony's voice, I could tell he was sucking up to this man. "Oh. Where?... Oh, shit. I'll let everyone know. We'll be on it as soon as possible. I hope to hear from you in better circumstances next time. Goodbye." With that, Tony quickly hung up the phone. "FRIDAY, please let everyone know that they'll be needed in the briefing room."

"Okay everyone, as we know, HYDRA has been under our radar for a very long time. Mr. Ross and his team finally picked up some activity in a supposedly abandoned HYDRA base about 100 miles north of the Aral sea. Ross wants us to check it out," Tony said seriously, briefing the rest of the team.

"Okay, guys you heard him. Suit up," Steve said. Everyone started to leave the room, including Bucky and me before Steve spoke up again. "Barnes, Alton, you guys stay here."

Tony and Steve looked at each other in agreement before both of them looked our way. "Okay, you two. You guys are going to be in the facility by yourselves for we don't know how long, so we're going to need to set some ground rules because god knows all hell will break loose if we don't."

"Let me guess. Don't leave the building, don't break anything, don't fuck with anything in the lab. Does that sound about right?" I said with a smirk on my face.

"Pretty much. And please try not to kill each other," Tony added.

"What? No. What are you talking about? Bucky and I are best friends we'd never try and kill each other," I say sarcastically, and wrap my arm around Bucky's waist (he was so tall, the waist was the best I could do). Bucky went along with me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

"Yeah, c'mon have a bit more faith in us, we'll be fine," Bucky added. We both looked like we were about to piss ourselves from laughter.

"Okay, but if someone dies, both of you are getting kicked out," Tony said with a bit of amusement on his face. And with that, Tony and Steve let us go back to our room.

"If someone dies, there'd only be one of us left to kick out," I say shrugging, speaking loud enough only for Bucky to hear me.

Later in the day, I went to Tony's room at the back of the lab where he tested my powers, being in there again was somewhat comforting, knowing that I couldn't seriously hurt anyone if anything happened. I practiced everything HYDRA taught me how to do, which really was only a few things, but I might as well get as strong as I can since there's nothing else to do.

I was wandering through the tower in my shadow dimension when I saw Bucky walk into the kitchen. I took this time to admire him... not a great time but I still choose to acknowledge his beauty. His long dark hair complimented his face shape and the tight black shirt he had on accentuated his muscles. And his metal arm reflected the natural light coming from outside. Bucky didn't like his arm, but I think it added to his handsome demeanour.

He was trying to get FRIDAY to make him a shake, I assumed he was going to train which is when I stepped in.

"You do know it's Halloween, you should relax a little. Take a break. Everyone needs a recovery day," I say shortly after coming out of the shadow dimension.

"Jesus! Maya, stop doing that," Bucky says with a look of amusement on his face.

"You're smiling. You think it's cool," I say in the most obnoxious tone I could produce. It was then and there that Bucky looked like he wanted to punch me in the face, which only made the situation even more amusing to me.

Bucky rolled his eyes and smiled. "Yeah, I guess it's kind of cool," he said in defeat. "Can you take anyone into your shadow world, or dimension thing, with you?" he asked with curiosity. 

"No, I've never tried," I say. A look of disappointment came to Bucky's face. "Until now."

Hey everyone, I know it's been, like, super long since I've published anything. I almost forgot I made this book because school is distracting and stupid. I promise I will try my best to publish a lot more often, but I have a draft that's in the making for the next chapter. 

While I was off of Wattpad for a bit, apparently, this book got so much more attention than I ever thought it would get, so thank you all who have read every one of these chapters and have voted for my story. ILY guys.
