Deflect- Part 2

"They're gone now." Alice came back in the room and sat next to me.

"Did they follow my blood trail? I swear I was more careful then that."

"I'm sure they used some hounds to help. That one guy was enough of a hound." She rolled her eyes.

"That's my fiance for you." I sighed feeling the heat slowly rise in my body starting where my wound was.

"You're engaged?" Lee jumped back.

"Was.. kind of a strain on the relationship when he only dated me to keep an eye on me till his brother-in-law was strong enough to finally kill me once and for all."

"Wait what?"

"Nevermind. Can you get rid of these blankets please?"

"Alice, can you grab the sheet?" He grabbed one of the blankets and turned around.

"I'm sorry Max, I had to get rid of your clothes so you're not really.. wearing anything right now."

"Wait what?" I looked down and saw I was completely naked after Alice removed the second blanket. She laid a thin sheet on me before telling Lee it was okay.

"Where are my clothes?"

"Somewhere in the lost woods. I tried to use them as a bait to get them going in the other direction." I could feel my skin starting to sweat as he spoke.

"I've never seen the healing spell work so quickly before. Even for Evan." Alice smiled as she dabbed my forehead with some cold water.

"It would have taken longer if that wound was any deeper. We're lucky it's on her left side closer to her heart that way it'll help with the healing process."

"So what am I supposed to do after I'm healed?"

"I was thinking maybe.. you could stay with us. I'm more then sure master will let you stay once I tell him-"

"I'm not staying here."

"W-what?"

"I'm not staying here. I've been too much of a bother already and since.. HE was here once he already knows one of the places I could be hiding and he'll come back. I'm not going to stay hidden in this room till he comes back either and I'm not about to spread my scent all over your home."

"We have a solution for that!" He stood up and walked over to a desk grabbing a small bottle. "This will permenantly mask your scent. Well, it'll give you a new scent so they can't track you."

"Th-those are illegal.." My fingers started twitching.

"They're illegal to buy. My master makes them for the king."

"Would your master be willing to give me one? I don't have anything in exchange."

"That depends on if you deserve it. Liam, you were supposed to be in Stoneson retrieving my paintings." A man walked in the room and closed the door behind him.

"W-when did you get here master?"

"I've been home for a while. I saw some men come in here and I wanted to make sure Alice was safe. Why are you here and who is she?" He pointed to me without looking at me.

"I found her in the forrest. She placed a protection spell around a hollowed tree and passed out once inside. She had terrible wounds and I did a healing spell. I was in Stoneson, that's where I found her."

"Wait I ran all the way to Stoneson? That's a days journey by horse!" Parts of my body started twitching at my shock.

"What is your name girl?" He looked at me and crossed his arms.
