"Rose? Are you in here?" My aunt called out as she opened the door to my room.

"I'm right here, sorry I was just finishing my homework." I stood up from my desk and hugged her as she walked in.

"I hope I'm not interrupting. I know you wanted me to let you know as soon as I got home." She pulled back and smiled to me brushing my hair out of my face.

"Do you know how she's doing?" I bit my lip in fear.

"She's not doing that great.. I'm sorry hun, I know you really wanted to see your mom today but they won't let anyone under the age of eighteen in the ICU."

"It's okay.. did she wake up yet?"

"No hun. The doctors were thinking she was showing signs of waking up but she hasn't woken up yet."

"I-it's fine." I fought the tears swelling in my eyes. My dad was never in the picture and my mom raised me by herself. We were in an accident that was my fault ultimately. I was at a friends house and we had a big fight, her parents refused to take me home so I had to call my mom.. if I had just stuck it out my mom would be here sitting on the couch eating potatoe chips.

"Oh hun.." My aunt pulled me in and squeezed me tightly. "She'll be okay. I know she will."

"C-can I just finish my homework please?" I wiped my face and pulled back out of her hug.

"Okay.. I'll go start on dinner. If you need anything let me know." She walked out and closed the door behind her. We've been living with my aunt for the last three years because her husband died from.. well he wasn't happy with his life. My mom felt bad for her and didn't want to leave her alone. She doesn't have children so she's always treated me as her own. I believe she'd make a great mother if she had the chance.

I sat down at my desk and looked at the algebra homework sitting in front of me. It was always so hard for me to do, my mom always helped me with it even tho she was just as bad at it but our laughing at our terrible math skills always made me feel better. I rolled my eyes as I tossed it to the side deciding I'd get a tutor later. I grabbed my laptop and started scrolling through Socialin(A/N: Like any other social network, facebook, tiktok, snapchat but all mixed into one).

I had over two-hundred thousand followers and it's only been rising since the accident. We drove off a cliff on icy roads, somehow I was kicked out of the car by my mom before the car went over. The doctors are suprise my mom even survived the twenty-four foot drop into the frozen lake. Some guys that were ice fishing were able to get her out of the car before it sunk completely, even though they struggled to stay above the breaking ice, they lost all of their ice fishing equipment as well.

I saw another post about me and clicked on it. I've seen almost a hundred or more of the articles about how I was saved by an angel. 'Yeah, my mother was the angel.' I scoffed in my head. I was mostly angry. If I hadn't argued with her about staying the night at my friends house that night.. I shook my head and closed the article and saw I had a DM. Probably another person saying I was so lucky to be alive or some hater saying I should be grateful, if not dead. I was shocked when I saw it was one of the boys from my school.

'Hey, Mrs Cranstin says you need a tutor for math. I don't charge anything I'm just trying to get the credit for a college application. Let me know if you're interested.' It was from Brady, he was in my algebra two class and had top scores for the class.

I clicked on his account and saw he only had four hundred followers, he was a football player and extremely good looking to boot. He had dirty blonde hair and green eyes with an amazing smile. I went back to his message and put my hands on my keyboard to begin typing but froze, what was I supposed to say? I'm supposed to be eighteen soon and I planned on spending all my free time at the hospital till my mom woke up.
