"Please wake up... please..?" I cried feeling my soul shaking. I held her close, feeling her warmth vanish in the snow.
"You have to wake up.. I can't take care of the rose bush without you... The sun won't shine as bright without your golden eyes to eluminate it.." My voice only trembled more as I fought off all the tears soaking her hair.
"We-we we're going to be parents.. we were going to adopt that little boy you fell in love with... please."
"I'm sorry miss... you need to move.." A mans voice rang in my ears but only anger could rise.
"You need to leave... I'm-I'm losing control..." I could feel the heat in me rising as anger coursed violently through my veins.
"What?" He asked grabbing my shoulder.
"LEAVE!" I screamed, I felt his hand leave my shoulder and a bright flash spread across my vision, then complete and utter darkness.
--Five years later--
"Hmm..." I moaned as I opened my eyes to the annoying sun shining through the window.
I sat up and stretched feeling numb as usual. Occasionally I'd feel anger or pain but it was almost always... nothing. I couldn't look for the positives or really see the negatives, everything was just... exsisting.
"Todays the day..." I sighed. "Do I need to do this?" I asked myself.
I stood up and looked at my only picture hanging on the wall. It was a picture of me and Alyssa at the adoption agency with little Anthony.
"I do..." I shook my head and got dressed for the day. I looked at her leather jacket hanging in the closet still. "For you babe." I grabbed the jacket and threw it over my shoulder. A tad big but it was the only item I could carry that brought me any kind of comfort.
"About twenty minutes away right? Gives me enough time for some breakfast." I said looking around the kitchen. Living in a box apartment was.. odd to say the least. My livingroom was my bedroom and my kitchen was half a step away but having a small place gave me a sense of comfort.
Just as I reached for the fridge "Lyla, you're late for this months rent!" Followed by a banging.
"Rick!" I screamed opening the door. "I paid her rent for her last week. Leave her alone." I clenched my jaw, like I said earlier, anger was one of the only emotions I felt so when I felt it... it was dangerous.
"You paid part of her rent. Late fees. Just buisness you know?" He smirked.
"How much?" I rolled my eyes as my heart pounded.
"A hundred a day. Pretty reasonable since the rent is already cheap enough as it is."
"How many days?" My patience was wearing thin at this point.
"Two weeks."
"Fine!" I walked inside my apartment and kicked my safe breaking the door, I pulled out fourteen hundred dollars and walked back into the hallway. "Get the fuck out of my hallway and let me get some decent silence." I pushed through my teeth throwing the money at him.
"I'd be pissed but you never cease to amaze me." He smirked. Rolling my eyes I closed my door and looked at my broken safe.
"Great... now I have to buy a new one." I whined as I tried to push the door back in.
"Excuse me..?" I heard a quiet voice on the patio.
"Yes?" I asked standing up and looking out.
"Th-thank you.." I saw it was my neighbor Lyla.
