EMBER PACKED THE LAST of her things. The wind going unnoticed by the blonde as she leaned back on her wall. The past week had been hell in a since. Skylar wasn't going back to Hogwarts this year since she graduated. It would be a big thing, this was the first time Ember was going to Hogwarts without her big sister.

Not to mention said big sister was also risking her life for the good of humanity.

A huff involuntary left the blondes mouth. Her clothes neatly packed away for the trip tomorrow. The world seemed to shift in so many ways just in mere days, weeks even.

Ember spent more time with her family than she ever had. She wrote letters to all of her friends more often than not. She sent chocolates to Peter and book recommendations to Remus.

It just made since, if everyone was going to die, make use of it!

She closed the trunk shut, running her fingers over the engraving on the side,

EMBER ESTELLE WHITE
'blondie'

James had given it to her for her birthday, June 15. It was a great present if she was being honest. It put a smile on her face every time she read it. He didn't necessarily give it to her, more like she fell asleep in his dorm and then the next morning she found the present on her bed in her dorm. Confusing, I know.

She smiled as she always did and climbed up to her bed, leaning all the way back. Elvendork joined her, snuggling up on Ember's chest and playing with a galleon. Just waiting for September 1st. Her last year of Hogwarts, and the most memorable one.

September first was rushed and rainy. Sirius Black, along with James Potter, apparated with Euphemia and Fleamont to King's Cross. The jurkey feeling leaving their chest and being replaced with calm.

The red train, the same one many used to escape reality of their parents and homes. The last time they would ever get on the train for a new year. It was 1977. In a year they would be reading speeches and gave scrolls that allowed them to get work.
