CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX!
— Limerence" Yeah, yeah. You can tell the boys "
THERE WAS NO WAY - NO WAY POSSIBLE - THAT IT COULD ALREADY BE DECEMBER. It seemed as if her life was going by in a blur of memories in a blink of an eye. The days had seemingly gone faster than ever. A whole month passing since she was attacked during her day job.
James - if even possible - had become more clingy than he ever was. Though Ember didn't hate having him around her 24/7, it did get quite annoying when he wouldn't loosen his hold on her when she got up to go work or an order meeting.
Saint Mungos had begun to do more checks on their employees. No one wanted any patients or staff to be attacked again. Mrs. Ratches - though she complained - had been given new potions that would actually help her, curtsey of Ember Potter. The woman had begun to be picky with her healers and medi-witches, wizards, and mages.
Her order work had become surprisingly quiet. Though there were the average attacks they had lowered. No one knew why. The biggest and most agreed on speculation was that Voldemort had begun to recruit more members. The death eaters were already a large group; it didn't make much sense why they would need more followers, at least to Ember.
Her reasoning was acceptable. She had seen the attacks first hand. Hogsmeade, the order, even at Saint Mungos when she was attacked. Not only when she was attacked but muggles and magic folk would be rushed into the hospital on the verge of death. It was either unforgivable curses or spells they would have to fight off while the healers prodded them.
It didn't seem as if a small group could do so much damage. They had to fight back somehow... were the dark wizards simply never getting harmed during these battles? She knew it couldn't be that, either. Ember herself had taken down plenty of death eaters.
And therefore, their army was bigger than anyone could imagine.
Ah, and most importantly, Ember had picked up a bug from work. She assumed it was just the average flu since she was throwing up constantly and running a low fever. No one knew about her predicament, however. She simply told Kaylee she needed a few days away and spent time at home. She didn't want to worry James any more than he was so she kept quiet at home as well.
Her stomach bent as she rolled off of her bed, still wearing pajamas. The left side of the bed was vacant since James would be at work for the rest of the day. The now-familiar feeling of throwing up entering her system as she skirted off to the bathroom.
