CHAPTER FORTY-SIX! — Limerence
" I want you "
FEBRUARY 14 WAS VERY OVERRATED IN EMBER WHITE'S OPINION. Also, the fact she found out her Grandmother put her magical core into her using a necklace kinda ruined the whole 'month of love' vibe for her. However, in James potters opinion it was a great holiday. The day of love, love, and well... more love.
One thing James did not like about the holiday was actually asking a girl out. Sure, he had an amazing girlfriend. But there was also the fact he asked Lily Evans to be his valentine every year since he was eleven.
But, it all worked out fine considering he was the one with the Ember White in his bed at the end of the day... and no not having sex silly. They had learned to rely on each other for a good rest. Neither would complain though. It was quite nice to feel someone's heartbeat.
As the date came closer, James's anxiety for the date rose a bit more. Sirius was no help in the department considering the only girls he could ever get to date him would break up with him in a week. Then there was Remus, his boyfriend, who had been his best friend for ages. Then Peter, who had a partner, but was still no hope. Only telling James to follow his heart... Whatever that meant.
He still hadn't made a move a week before February 14th. Ember sat in the library, coffee in front of her - luckily she was able to get Madam Pince's permission - while she helped Peter study. Remus sat in front of her, twirling his quill.
Peter pretty much just wrote down the things that Ember pointed out for him. He was smart, and he had a great writing style but he was too focused on Remus's quill or the book pages turning.
"I'm done with this!" The amingus groaned, knocking his book down. It only missed Ember's coffee by a millimeter. "I can't focus."
"It's fine, Peter." Ember laughed, moving her coffee. "You're essay is great. I'm sure Professor Binns will find it acceptable. I don't think he really expects anyone to actually pay attention during that bore."
"Even I don't pay attention, Peter." Remus popped in as he wrote an essay for Transfiguration.
Ember fiddled with the hem of her jacket when the boys turned the topic to Valentine's day. "I'm asking Hailey to go with me to the three broomsticks tonight." Hailey was Peter's partner. They were a seventh-year Gryffindor who was quite sweet and Ember never found an issue with her. They even gave her cookies - very tasty ones at that-
