CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO! — Limerence
" Surge Amica mea "
HARRY CRIED LOUDLY SEEING HIS MOTHER DEAD ON THE FLOOR. His mother, Ember Potter on the floor. Not breathing. He cried louder when the scary snake man scarred him with the cursed lightning scar. Voldemort let out a strangled yell. His bones slowly becoming ash.
The light became strangled and dark as a figure crouched down beside Ember's lifeless body. "My sweet Ember." His hand brushed the side of her face. "I told him not to kill you. You should've let the boy die. Why are you so selfless." River cried, throwing off the death eater mask.
"You made me this way just for you to die. I did everything to protect you. M-My Patronus is a doe because of you." River sobbed. Behind him, Harry cried but River paid him no mind. He held Ember in his arms. Quiet sobs leaving him.
"James!" A voice echoed from downstairs. Their voice yelling out the name in nothing but pain. River quickly apparated, knowing the voice as well as Harry did. The boy cried louder, reaching out for Sirius to notice he was upstairs. "Shit" He screamed. His voice echoed through the Potter home.
He ran up the stairs. James was already dead, who else was? "Ember," Sirius whispered upon seeing her pale, lifeless body. "My Merlin Ember." His voice came out in sobs. His family was dead. He never saw James and Ember as his 'friends'. No, they were always more than that. Ember was his sister. James was his brother. His family.
Harry sat in his crib. Another sob leaving him. Only then did Sirius notice his godson. "Harry... oh little Harry Regulus Potter," Sirius whispered, picking him up in his hands and cradling him.
"It's gonna be alright. I'll kill him. I swear I will. I'll kill that Peter Pettigrew." Sirius told himself. He swore he would. He would do it. "It'll be alright, mini prongs."
He didn't want to look down in fear he would see Ember dead once more. But, Harry reaching down for his mother...
Sirius hunched down, allowing Harry to grasp on to Ember, his little hands shaking with tears. "Mama?" He whispered. "Time to play." Harry tried to giggle through his tears.
Sirius's breaths came out strangled and rushed. He tried to hide the tears falling from his face for Harry's sake... but he couldn't. He couldn't focus on anything but his dead sister. downstairs rested his dead brother.
As Sirius cried, harry continued to try and wake up his mother. As they lost a piece of his heart somewhere in her head played a familiar tune.
