The Bet

"Flirting with Y/n Potter I see," Theo said as we met up outside of Umbridge's room.

"Gross," I sneered.

"Please, you enjoyed every bit of that lap dance," Blaise laughed.

"Yeah. You should've seen the look on your face," Pansy added.

"I'm not into her."

"Never said you were. Just said you were flirting," Blaise corrected.

I glared at all of them before Theo and I parted ways from Blaise and Pansy.

"So, a half-blood. I never thought you'd go for someone that isn't pure," Theo said as we walked to Herbology.

"I'm not into her."

"Joking...but I want to make you a bet."

"It's the first day and you're already trying to cause drama?"

He smirked. "Yep. So, you make Y/n fall in love with you by the end of the year and I'll give you 200 galleons. If you fail, I get the 200."

"Only 200?" This would be the easiest bet for me to win. She already fell off her broom for me last year so I can easily make her fall for me this year.

"I could up it, but seeing that she hates you, I didn't want to make you lose that much money."

Making her fall in love with me could benefit me greatly. I could gather information for the Dark Side and maybe my father will be proud for once. Plus, she's not that bad looking so it won't hurt.

I smirked. "Make it 400 galleons and you're on."

Theo smiled. "Great. It's a deal."

We shook hands, binding the deal.

I sat beside George and Fred in the Great Hall that night for dinner.

"That Umbridge lady is horrible," I said.

"A real bitch," George replied.

"Umbitch," Fred joked.

"Dumbitch," George added.

"Please, she can't even get that D," I chortled.

The three of us burst out laughing but I stopped when something hard hit me in the back of the head. I turned around to see a green apple on the ground and Draco Malfoy smirking at me from the next table over.

I picked up the apple and also smirked. "You know, Draco, in Ancient Greece, throwing an apple at a girl was a way of proposing marriage."

His smirk dropped and his face turned red. Pansy, Blaise, and Theo all laughed.

"Well, I want to propose."

My smirk dropped and I rolled my eyes. "I'm not in the mood for your stupid antics, Malfoy."

"Yikes, he's on a last name basis. No way is he getting anywhere," I heard Blaise whisper to Theo.

"Shut up, zucchini," Draco jeered before turning back to me. "There's a party this weekend in the Slytherin common room and you're my date," he said, flashing a smile.

"No."

"Too bad because you're going."

"No means no."

Draco rolled his eyes. "And you're coming means you're coming."

"Why not invite Daphne or Pansy?"

Pansy sat nearby and let out a loud gag.

"Ignore her," Draco said coolly, "But it's because you're the hottest girl in Gryffindor and I'm the hottest guy in Slytherin, so that's why we should go together."

"I disagree with that," Theo said.

"Yeah me too."

"Complete rubbish," the Twins muttered beside me.

"Can you all shut up for five seconds?" Draco spat. They all closed their mouths and Draco turned back to me. "So I'll pick you up at 8:00, Saturday night. Don't be late," he said, "Oh, and don't dress like a complete freak."

"I'm n-"

But Draco had turned around before I could respond.

"So Y/n has a date with Malfoy?" George asked, bewildered.

"I guess so," I said, annoyed.
