Sorry

Unfortunately, in the midst of gathering D.A. members, many got caught. As of now, they were stuck in Umbridge's office with some Slytherins. I knew I needed to get them out as soon as possible though, for the sake of Sirius.

I knocked on the door, and it swung up. Theo stood on the other side. "What?" he asked.

"Can I come in?" I asked rather harshly.

Behind him, I could see Ron, Luna, Neville, and Ginny. Each of them were being held at wand point.

"Are you coming in as a squad member, or to make a pathetic attempt at helping these four escape?" he questioned.

I rolled my eyes and pushed past him anyways. Draco sat atop Umbridge's desk and watched me closely as I stopped in front of him.

"What are your intentions, Potter?" he spat, "no good, I assume."

I stepped closer to him, to the point where I was almost between his legs. He was not phased, or at least he did not seem to be. All he did was sit there and hold his gaze.

"Draco, I'm so sorry for what I did to you," I said.

I'm pretty sure I lost whatever dignity I had left by saying that sentence alone, aloud, and in front of so many people.

"Oh, darling, it's about time you noticed," he stated.

I gave him a small smile. It was not exactly a forced smile, which made me wonder if my words were genuine.

"What can I say... I missed you."

I ran a hand up his arm. A smirk formed on his face and he glanced around at everyone in the room. They all seemed to be grossed out, but I continued on with what I was doing because I had a plan.

"Did you really?"

I hummed softly beneath my breath and closed the gap between us. He seemed taken aback by my sudden move, but he soon wrapped an arm around my lower back.

"Love, can this wait?" he whispered.

I had to swallow my embarrassment as I grabbed his tie and pulled him so his ear was near my mouth. "Are you really going to make a girl like me wait? Days apart and this is how you treat me?"

As I spoke, I noticed my friends' wands sitting atop the desk, only inches from where Draco and I were. It was not difficult for me to grab and pocket Ginny's wand. Draco was too distracted by me and the others were paying no attention to Draco and me considering everything.

"Come on, Draco, just send them outside for five minutes. I know that's all you need," I whispered.

His breath was shaky as I spoke and all he did was wave his hand, and out went everyone else. As Ginny walked by me, I slipped her wand into her sweatshirt pocket, which I managed to stay unnoticed doing once again.

I knew Ginny would know what to do. She is a Weasley after all.

The second the office door closed, I was half expecting Draco to be all over me. I was a little bummed that he wasn't, in all honesty.

"So are you going to tell me why you're really here?" he questioned.

"I don't know what you mean."

"Don't play stupid, Y/n, you made it very clear what your feelings were for me."

"I can change," I replied.

He sighed and picked up the remaining three wands and put them into my hand. "I know I upset you, but consider this a way of me saying 'sorry.'"

I was completely shocked. No way Draco Malfoy is being useful for once. So, I asked, "what's the catch?"

"There is none, just don't bring my name into it, alright?"

"Thank you... Draco," I whispered.

He gave me a small nod and I backed away to leave, but before doing that, I retraced my steps right into his arms. My arms wrapped around his neck and we shared a small kiss.
When I pulled away, we shared small smiles before I jogged out the door.

The other D.A. members were all free from the Slytherins, who were each fighting off some sort of charm. For example, Pansy had deer antlers atop of her head.

"Here," I said as I dealt out all their wands.

"Thank you, Y/n," said Luna as we began to run towards the covered bridge. Sure enough, Harry and Hermione were running towards us.

"You escaped!?" Hermione asked, almost out of breath.

"Thank Y/n," said Ginny, "how do we get to Sirius if we can't use the floo networks?"

Everyone seemed to become discouraged for a moment, but then Luna stepped forward.

"I know a way."

So a short time later, we were soaring through the air. It was a strange feeling considering I could not see what was flying me to the Ministry. Of course, it was a thestral, but only those who have witnessed someone pass away can see them. Harry and Luna could see them... which personally, is something I hope to never be able to see.
