Hard to Get
____________________________________

A few days later, I was writing down notes in History of Magic when a little paper crane fluttered onto my books. I turned to look at Draco who was writing away, but his eyes landed on me when he noticed I was looking.

I rolled my eyes and crumbled it up, and tossed it right back at him.

However, at dinner in the Great Hall that night, Goyle approached me to tell me that Draco wanted to talk to me, but I turned him down.

And for the remainder of the week, I turned down all gestures that Draco made towards me which totally pissed him off.

I just don't understand. In what right mind does he think he stands a chance with me?

Even throughout the weekend he made little moves. I received many letters and even a bouquet of flowers, but I threw them all away.

So, when Monday rolled around, I figured he would have finally taken a hint by then. Near the end of Divinations, I left to freshen up in the bathroom.

I splashed some water on my face and adjusted my hair. I didn't even think anything of it when the bathroom door opened. That was until I was grabbed by my hips and spun around. A pair of blue eyes met my gaze.

"This is the girls bathroom. Get out."

"No. I'm not giving up just yet. You can't just avoid me," he hissed.

"Clearly not because you're a stalker."

He rolled his eyes and let go of my hips, but still kept a close distance to me.

"Potter, I just want to talk, but you aren't letting me prove my feelings for you. So, I'm going to do it here."

I crossed my arms and frowned at him while I waited for him to speak.

"Potter," he said.

"Y/n," I corrected.

"Y/n, please, just give me a chance. I'll admit, I was first in it for the bet... but after meeting you as a person, I realized how good of a person you are, so please, give me a chance."

I rolled my eyes. Generic speech.

"Bad speech. Now can I head back to class?"

"Seriously!?" He glared at me and stepped closer to me so I was pinned between him and the sink. For whatever reason, I was not complaining about the lack of space between us.

I contemplated for a moment whether or not I should run, or if I should take advantage of having a hot guy to myself since everyone is supposed to be in class for at least another 10 minutes.

"A pathetic little speech isn't going to sell me," I hissed.

"What more do you want from me!?"

"Nothing really. I know you like me, but I'm not interested in you, so leave please."

Except he did the exact opposite. Instead, his lips slammed onto mine.

Did I kiss back? Yes, obviously.

I pushed myself up so I was sitting on the sink, and he wrapped his arms around my back so the kiss deepened. I grabbed a fistful of his robes and pulled him closer to me as if I was desperate for him.

We leaned backwards and he placed a hand on the mirror for support as we kissed more passionately.

However, the bathroom door opened and he leapt away from me in the blink of an eye.

At the doorway stood Hermione, open mouthed. Awkward!

"H-hey!" I said as I stood up from where I sat on the counter.

"Why him!? Of all people?"

"We don't like each other, but please don't tell anyone, especially Harry, about what you just saw."

Hermione glanced between Draco and me, and she shook her head in shock. "I won't, but put an end to this and I'll forget what I saw."

"Thanks, Mione," I said with a smile as she hurried out of the bathroom.

When the door shut, I turned back to Draco. "You heard the girl. Out."

-

"Hey, hey, hey!" Fred and George cried as they jumped atop a table in the common room. The entire house went silent to listen to what they had to say.

"Rumor has it Slytherin has thrown some major parties so far this year, but we aren't about that," said George.

The entire house booed in unison because Gryffindor and Slytherin will do absolutely anything to out best the other.

"That's why we're throwing a party tomorrow night, in here. Only fourth years and up, with some exceptions. If you invite someone from another house, make sure it isn't Slytherin," said Fred.

I glanced at my many housemates who were obviously excited. We have not yet thrown a party in Gryffindor this year, so I don't blame them.

"Anyways, keep this on the downlow. We don't need Umbitch finding out, so once again, NO SLYTHERINS!"

"Spread the word. It's going to be the most wild party Hogwarts has seen in ages," George added as everyone chatted excitedly amongst one another.

-

So, my housemates made sure to spread the word of the party to anyone but Slytherins, so when the time for the party came, there was a massive turnout.

Just about every student in fourth year and up was packed into the Gryffindor common room, minus the Slytherins of course.

I sat on one of the couches beside Dean Thomas while people partied around us.

I thought the Slytherin party was wild, but this one was a whole other story. Music blared throughout the room and red strobe lights lit the room. Many people jumped up and down in time to the music while others played party games.

Fred and George stood at the top of the staircase, dancing and screaming the lyrics to a song.

Even Hermione was into it. She was dancing with Ron on a table — Hermione intoxicated is something I never would have expected to see.

As the song neared a beat drop, the energy in the room picked up as everyone got hype. Dean and I stood up to dance along with everyone else, and just as the drop was about to come, the music cut out.

Everyone stopped jumping as the lights turned off, which made the room go silent until yells of protest could be heard.

Suddenly, music began to play once more and the strobe lights turned back on, except they were now a green color.

A path was created near the portrait hole, and we all watched in utter disgust as a group of Slytherins walked in. It was Draco, Blaise, Theo, Pansy, and Daphne, and many more that I did not recognize since they were all in other years.

"Who the hell invited them?" Ginny sneered.

We all glared at them as they started to take over our party. I crossed my arms as I watched Draco dance over to a girl in Ravenclaw, but held eye contact with me as he started to dance with the girl.

I rolled my eyes and turned to Dean. We began to dance together once again, and for the remainder of the remainder of the night, I managed to ignore Draco.

However, many people came to tell me that he could not keep his eyes off me, like at all.
