Slowly Getting to Her
____________________________________I was alone in my room since Hermione was in the library. She'll probably be there all night knowing her.
So, I was surprised when someone knocked on my dorm door.
Using my wand, I flicked it open, but I wish I had checked who was there before opening it because Draco fucking Malfoy was outside my room.
He was in the Gryffindor house. In the girls' dormitories. Standing outside of my dorm.
What the hell?
I watched in shock as he walked in and shut the door.
"Don't be so surprised to see me," he mumbled as he walked into my bathroom and began to wash the blood off his knuckles.
"We hooked up once! What makes you think you can just barge into my room!?" I cried.
He chuckled and dried his hands off. "Figured I would piss off your brother. How have you been, beautiful?"
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "If someone finds out you're here, you'll be expelled."
"Like my father would allow such a thing to happen."
"Hermione is coming back any minute now."
A small smirk appeared on his face. "She's in the library. I would think you of all people would know she won't be returning."
"Well, if you're implying what I think you are, what happened was a mistake, and we are not repeating it."
Draco chuckled and walked over to me. I crossed my arms and glared at him while he stopped unusually close to me.
"I would not call that a mistake..." he whispered.
"We were drunk," I responded.
"And we aren't now."
"So?"
Why I wasn't running away from him, I don't know. Maybe he put a love potion on me because no way in hell would I ever feel desire towards Malfoy.
"So now we can find out if that night was really a mistake."
And then his cold lips were on mine. I was shocked at first, which is my excuse for not immediately slapping him, but I was actually enjoying it.
My hands tangled in his hair as his hands pressed against my back, pushing us closer together.
And it all happened so fast.
-
"Why did you miss morning classes?" Hermione asked as we stood in one of the many corridors.
"I don't know how you didn't! You were in the library all night!" I cried.
"This isn't about me though. Why weren't you in class!?"
I glanced across the hall, and just my luck, Draco stood across the way with his goons. Of course, he was smirking at me, as if he could hear our conversation.
"Just couldn't sleep after the fight."
She nodded understandingly. "I don't blame you. At least Malfoy got what he deserved."
"I got what I deserved? I did nothing wrong!" he chided.
I turned slowly on my heel, hoping Draco was not behind me, but of course, he was.
Before him or Hermione could get into it, I pushed him around the corner and into a new, empty corridor.
"Stay away from me!" I seethed.
"Was last night really that bad?" he teased as he leaned against the wall.
"Just stop coming around!"
He chuckled and shook his head. "You're flustered."
"No. You're just annoying me."
His hand reached up and twisted one of my strands of hair around his finger, but I slapped his hand away.
"Don't."
A smirk appeared on his lips as he glanced down the hall. "Binns just left his room..."
"No! We've hated each other for years and now you just suddenly want to be with me!?"
"Mhm...there's something about you, so what do you say?"
I hadn't realized how close we were standing, so I took a large step away from him.
"You want me?" I questioned.
"Precisely," he responded, closing the gap again.
I stepped back again. "Well, I say no."
"Why is that?" he asked, closing the gap, again.
Another step back. "Because we don't like each other. I want a relationship with genuine feelings."
He stepped up to me once again. "Who says that's not what I want?"
Stepping back again, I crossed my arms. "You're a player."
Closer again. "You don't know me."
"And that's the problem," I said as I took another step back, only to bump into a wall.
He placed both hands on either side of the wall so I was trapped.
"Let me take you on a date then...let me prove myself."
"You've had four years to do so."
"Yeah, but I'm different. Please, just one date."
It's the bet talking.
"You don't want me."
"Yes, I do. So please, just meet me at the Astronomy Tower tonight after dinner."
And as much as I wanted to say no, I remembered what I was doing this for.
"Fine."
