The Annual Malfoy Ball
____________________________________

Two weeks later, I was halfway through winter break and getting fitted for my suit which I was supposed to wear to my family's annual ball.

I toyed with the cuff of my suit while gazing at my reflection in the mirror. A smirk formed on my face as I admired myself, but it fell as I pondered on the thought of why the hell Y/n won't accept my offers. I mean, just look at me!

"Mr. Malfoy, does the suit feel okay?" asked the tailor.

"I want the jacket a little shorter, and for Heaven's sake, make it less distracting," I said as I pulled off the blazer.

"But Mr. Malloy, the suit is all black... how are we supposed to fix the distraction issue?" questioned the tailor.

"It's your job to figure that stuff out, so why are you asking me?" I jeered, getting slightly pissed off. I always hate when people even dare to question me.

"Right, I will see what I can do," said the tailor shakily.

"You're joking," I mumbled.

"Y/n, please, this will help us out so much," said Lupin.

I rolled my eyes and sat back in my chair. To think I was so excited to attend this stupid Order meeting.

Lupin, on behalf of the Order, had just asked me to go to Malfoy Manor as a guest attending their masquerade ball to spy on them.

"No. Absolutely not."

"You'll be disguised and you will have Tonks, Kingsley, and me there, we'll all be undercover. It will be okay. All you have to do is help us gather information," Lupin explained.

"Why can't Harry go!?" I jeered.

"Because he's not capable. We would not have asked you unless we knew you were capable. Now go upstairs. I had a dress prepared for you."

"If my dad were alive right now, he would—"

Sirius chuckled. "Little Potter, shh. If your dad were alive, he would crash the Malfoy ball every damn year."

I groaned and pushed my chair back. "Only because my dad would!"

He smiled at me as I stomped my way out of the room and upstairs to where Molly was prepping a gorgeous ball gown.

"Suddenly, I'm not opposed to the ball," I said as I gazed at the gown. It was an off the shoulder scarlett red dress that was long and made from satin. The dress was tight fitting and had a lace up back. To complete the look, I was to wear gold jewelry, lace up heels, and a gold mask.

Molly nodded in agreement as she finished some alterations. "Now go try the dress on. I need to make sure it's in perfect shape before the ball," she said as she removed the dress from the mannequin.

"Now remember, act regal. We are trying to make you go as unnoticed as possible," explained Kingsley as we rode in a carriage pulled by four horses.

"Easy enough," I replied.

A while later, a big manor came into view. Despite it being the location of a ball, it still seemed so ominous. The architecture was very old, and dark clouds surrounded the place. I could just tell the inside was cold and dark.

I climbed out of the carriage after it came to a stop and put my mask on over my face before following Lupin, Tonks, and Kingsley into the manor where several people had gathered in the foyer.
