Consequences

Monday rolled around and I found myself sitting in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Draco still hadn't arrived to class, but it was still a bit early, and he usually arrives late anyways.

As the clock ticked down to the start of the class, I felt someone sit beside me, except they didn't have the same minty scent that Draco has; this person smelled musky and outdoorsy. I peered at the figure who sat beside me from the corner of my eye to see Theo.

"Yes, Nott?" I said without looking at him.

"My desk partner is annoying and seeing yours isn't here either tells me you need one," he said, motioning to his seat in which he used to sit. I turned to look at where he was pointing. Crabbe sat beside Theo's old seat, and I don't really blame Theo for moving.

"Whatever. I guess you're a bit better than Malfoy," I mumbled.

Theo snorted a small laugh as he pulled out his books. "Funny you say that. Malfoy was claiming that you were falling for him and such."

That didn't surprise me one bit as Draco can't keep his mouth shut for the life of him.

"I think it's the opposite actually."

Theo raised his eyebrows. "Wow, a girl who isn't falling for Malfoy? Didn't know they existed!"

"Well, who could? He's an arrogant little piece of shit who relies on his daddy for everything."

Theo chuckled again. "I like you. We should hang out sometime...maybe you'll attend a party with me?

Just as I opened my mouth to respond with a no, the door to the classroom slammed open, pulling my attention to the person who walked in with a commotion. Sure enough, it was Draco. His hair was a mess, robes undone, and his belt was still unbuckled which told everyone in the room exactly where...well, what, he was just doing.

"Let's do it again sometime," a female's voice called out, making it even more obvious about what he was doing. However, his actions don't surprise me.

"That must sting," Theo mumbled from beside me.

Draco began to walk down the aisles of tables, and I quickly turned around to face the front of the room.

"So what do you say?" asked Theo.

"About what?" someone from behind us pried, making both Theo and I jump. "Get out of my seat, Nott," Draco jeered.

"No, it's mine now. Just like your girl."

My cheeks flushed red and the people around us all ooed.

"She wasn't mine in the first place. We were just having some fun," Draco said loudly, grabbing the attention of more people.

I sunk into my chair in hopes Ron, Hermione, and especially Harry didn't hear.

"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Dean from a nearby table.

Draco smirked down at me before turning back to Dean. "Oh, nothing. I was only joking. Do you really think I would lower my standards just for a Pottah?"

The pureblood supremacists that sat nearby nodded in agreement with what Draco said while everyone else rolled their eyes. I sat up from where I slouched in my chair, and glared at Draco. "And you really think I'd lower my standards for a needy daddy's boy?"

Laughs thundered throughout the room as Draco's cheeks flushed red. His mouth opened and closed as he searched for a response, but failed when no sound came out.
